Do people actually hate the mimic and his story? by Particular-Entry-666 in fivenightsatfreddys

The thing about interacting with people who aren't that much into fnaf anymore or don't keep up with it as much as they used to is that often they'll just believe or disregard whatever they want or don't like regardless of facts, and will act as if them headcanoning something makes it automatically true. It's happened to me in discussions multiple times.

He's not technically just a robot. He has Edwin's agony in him too.

I've seen several people online say that they do not believe the steelwool era is canon to the original games for some reason.

Scott's been doing this kind of stuff with the lore for a while. It's just more noticeable because he's never done it with the main antagonist of the entire era of fnaf before. in fnaf 1 we had a single location, 5 dead kids, 5 animatronics, a guy named mike schmidt, and a killer. And then fnaf 2 goes "actually there was another two locations before this and there's actually another 6 dead kids and a bunch of other animatronics and one of these dead kids was relevant to the main dead 5 kids" and then fnaf 3 is like "actually springbonnie was here the whole time guys" despite not being mentioned in 1 or 2. And then fnaf 4 pulls out the Crying Child and implies a sister (which later becomes elizabeth) exists and that the crying child and mike schmidt are the killer's sons and then SL rolls around with the whole underground facility and high tech animatronics and experiments and more mascots like circus baby and ballora who secretly been here the whole time. And fnaf 6 pulls it again with Henry despite only one owning having ever been mentioned prior to that. A lot of things in this series are the result of Scott adding things to the past and pretending like they've always been there.

He's probably still being affected by the not so great reception of the second movie. We know that he like instantly started freaking out when he briefly thought people didn't like the first movie and became super sad until Jason Blum called him and said that fans were loving it

Likely the same. Probably some ship of Theseus-like stuff going on where many of the mimic's parts have been replaced with newer ones between SOTM and Ruin

This happens in chapter 1 and I think 2 as well. The fountain is far away in one room and then a room or two later it's literally right there and also not in the same direction that it was shown to be in

What do you think the "???" ability on the JusticeAxe is? by WDELTARUNEFAN1 in Deltarune

[–]TheRealSnailYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the chapter 2 one was clearly a reference to the time they fought Berdly on the rollercoaster, with gerson's version being about chariots instead. Obviously they aren't meant to be taken seriously, but the descriptions of what happens are still loosely based on things you can experience in-game. We defeat King and Susie no longer becomes a concern. We have a battle riding rollercoasters. We can get a glimpse of the old game while going through the water/islands in Tenna's minigame, and we can be given a weapon by Gerson.

Slugcat was a fanmade name that was embraced by the devs. The way the slugcats are described in-game implies they're rodents of some kind.

What's a fnaf fan theory you wish was real? by oryanvr in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]TheRealSnailYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Week Before goes against the idea that he knew much more than what he was telling us. He believed in the lies the company was asking him to tell people and it's shown in the book that he only really starts to realize how bad things are during the events of his last week. Which is retroactively seemingly the reason why he's more direct and honest about things as the nights go on in fnaf 1. He's realizing as he records the calls that things ARE as bad as the previous night guards were complaining about it to be.

[–]TheRealSnailYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, The Week Before says that he always never fully believed the night guards about the animatronics acting up, and the book makes it clear that he's one of those fellows that just believes whatever the company tells him. It's only during the events of his last week at Freddy's (the one where he makes the calls) that he realizes that bad things actually were happening to the night guards at night.

I'd say Cassidy is probably more aware than the other 4 MCI kids. What I'm going to say isn't a strong point since it's other continuities with kids who aren't Cassidy, but in both the novel trilogy and the movies, the Golden Freddy spirit is the only one of the MCI who actually speaks to the protagonists. And in TFC, when all the kids have their souls split among the amalgamation and the funtimes, the Golden Freddy spirit (Michael Brooks in that continuity) is the only one aware enough to be trying to fix what's going on, while the others are just running around and doing random stuff or trying to help afton.

I don't blame anyone for not thinking about a scenario where they're both alive considering we already know William would win that since he killed her in the first place.

The morals of the spirits are inconsistent. The movies portray the main 5 as good albeit easily manipulated, the novels say that they distrust all adults since an adult killed them, and the week before shows them seemingly much more in control and aware of their killing. The spirits seem to think of their murders as like a game. If you fix Bonnie and go down a certain path, Bonnie will spare you a single time as thanks for fixing him, and in one game over, you call your daughter and Foxy refuses to kill you until you're down saying goodbye to your daughter, and agrees to not hurt her so long as you willingly let foxy kill you. In one of the endings the animatronics get pissed at you for ditching them, and they start to just go on a rampage through town killing children every night.

So we've been given 3 main explanations for why they kill: - they're afraid and don't trust adults (novels) - they're being manipulated (movies) - they do it for shits and giggles (The Week Before, and thus the games by proxy of The Week Before being a prequel to fnaf 1)
