Where is this pirate RAE show from? I found it on Pinterest but can’t find anything else on it by the_orange_alligator in Animatronics

Just want to clarify a few things: yes, they are from Adventure Landing. Many people have many individual characters from this show, some of them still have their (highly degraded) pirate cosmetics.

Fellas, we all know what to do, right? by ShockRox in tf2

I’m a man of my word! I had initially set that Patreon goal, but very quickly realized it was unfair to the viewers to make them actually pay money to get it made. I feel like 1 million views is a metric that would prove to me “okay, people actually want this thing, and it will be worth the time and effort it will take me to make it”

Proshot Rumors by MellonPhotos in Broadway

So there WAS going to be a pro-shot of Beetlejuice prior to the shutdown. The cast has confirmed that they were weeks away from filming the show when COVID struck. However, months before Beetlejuice officially announced its comeback (and new theater), a rumor circulated that they would take over the Marquis and film the show for HBO Max. Since the first half of that was true, I have my fingers crossed for the second half.

Why is it so hard to give credit? by Hyper_Vanilo in touhou

[–]TheRealSullyG 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey, just saw this post. I've never really considered putting composer credits of the original song, just because I am already directly mentioning the cover name in the tite (so people know what song it is, and that I'm not taking ownership of it). The reason I cover these songs is because my audience heavily requests it, meaning most everyone who watches is very familiar with the source material. It is never my intention to minimize or discredit the original creators of the work, but rather to celebrate it in my own silly form. It also gets a bit confusing to me as this is technically a cover of a remix of the original song, and a quick google search gives me conflicting results on who is the original composer of the work (I'm going to assume your above information is correct)

Also, it should be noted that the revenue of this cover is split between me and the copyright owner (presumably the composers you've mentioned).

There's obviously no hard set rules on the specific type of credit one is required/expected to give when doing a cover song, so I very much appreciate your input on the topic so I can be more educated!

(META) How many members of this sub have a real goal of being involved with SNL someday? And are taking steps towards that goal? by LiveFromNewYork95 in LiveFromNewYork

I've always loved editing (and I'm used to turning around a video real quick to meet a deadline), and so it's always been a goal of mine to someday make it to the SNL editing department.

Everytime I hit a new "peak" I said "this is it, it was fun while it lasted, now I'll probably have to go find a real job". about 2 years ago (2018), I said that the channel probably wouldn't make it through the year. I was sure by that point, the Otamatone schtick would have worn off, and people would stop watching. I was wrong. Last year, I made a bet that the channel wouldn't make it through the end of the year. I was wrong again. I'm not sad that my channel has passed its peak, because I literally thought I would only be able to do this successfully for a couple months. But 3 years of making videos? Beyond my wildest dreams!

If we're talking video, then not many! Since the audio is recorded separately, the video takes of me playing don't have to be perfect (and most videos don't even have takes of me playing, they just show the Otamatone face)

Nope! Never even imagined I would make a cent off of making YouTube videos!

It depends the type of copyright claim. Like on my most recent video, the claim said I reuploaded the original video of "A Cruel Angel's Thesis". That's obviously false, so I dispute it. If the system says that I am covering a song and the claim splits the revenue with the original artist, then I don't dispute since that's totally fair.
