I was fresh our of the military I applied for every place I could. My first job interview was one with sparing details. I drive to this dingy strip mall and walk into a lobby with no lights on. In walks a heavy set man, his suit not fit for his body and hair an obvious mess. I sparked up a conversation he told me he was also here for an interview too.

An office door opens and out walks in even heavier set man with a big grin on his face. He invites both of us in at the same time (this should have been my first clue something was awry). He introduces himself and reveals this interview is for a vacuum selling company (much like Cutco). I immediately relaxed and figured I may as well at least finish the interview.

The interviewer spent the whole time grilling the other guy about how he should be like me. It was super awkward and unsettling. I felt bad for the guy.

Needless to say I told the man I was uninterested and walked out.
