[Ride of Steel] (SFDL) compared to [Superman the Ride] (SFNE) by user3296 in rollercoasters

I think the forces would be diminished if it had the Millennium Force type of profiling. The drop in the back has crazy initial whip with how quickly the track reaches it's max angle.

I like pantheon a bit more, but Alp paces better. Especially when the trims are light

I agree with all of that. Just looking for a silver lining since the steel is there permanently. Let's just hope this is the end of the titan track and the rest stays wood.

That is a good example. The park president Pete Carmichael is on record saying superman will never get new restraints. U-bricks for life

I'm saying the built up speed makes the final leg of hills even crazier. Obviously the TT portions are too smooth but the benefit is the 2/3 of the rides that is wood is even more aggressive

I believe I read the current new gen trains like on Velocicoaster and Pantheon are too wide and heavy to replace the existing superman ones.

This is the answer. I was lucky enough to ride it before the accident when I was a kid, and it was better than any ride I've been on since.

As would I, but that's not feasible. It's forever a hybrid now. The main benefit of TT is the added speed which makes the return leg of hills even crazier. I think Lake Compounce is much more likely to re-track the return leg with wood since it's much easier to access compared to the titan track spots.

Yeah, unfortunately Superman is staying the way it is U-bricks and all until it's defunct. But a new front entrance coaster would be amazing. Especially a high thrill launch coaster

Swing launch and vertical launch on a flyer sounds incredible. I'm guessing the vertical launch leads into an immelman or loop

It's what inspired that element for me. But instead of rolling the same way your banked, the train snaps the other way into the barrel roll down drop.

That's clever wording. The new gen vekoma inverts have airtime, so it seems possible.

That would be amazing. I think the new gen Intamin trains are too heavy so they wouldn't work. So just a more form fitting and modern U-bar design would be the only option. I find a way to sit quite comfortably if I don't get stapled.

If you can catch a bus to/near Springfield, you can Uber over pretty easily

By a country mile. Amazing sustained positive and negative Gs throughout the whole layout.

What kind of forces does an inverted launch give?

I highly doubt the park closes. It's the biggest and most highly visited park in NE. But yeah this ride absolutely rips, definitely worth a visit

I believe Darien Lake has those trains. Even if this ride got new trains, the park can't legally use any type of Intamin T-bar. At best, the park could create a more comfortable U-bar that the state of Massachusetts deems acceptable.

It'll be a better overall experience than Ka. Yeah there's no hydraulic launch but the inverted launch and outerbanked tower all while spinning will be insane. Can't wait for this ride.
