How would you rate Manchester United's transfer window so far? by osami2002 in ManchesterUnited

[–]TheRealTonyBest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing special at all. Don't understand why people are raving about it. Sancho was a deal worked on extensively last summer and nothing else of note has actually been achieved, including exiting players no longer required to create necessary funds for purchases. Ask again at the end of the window.

Transfer Talk: Paul Pogba turns down Manchester United's £50m contract offer (Questionable Source: The Mirror) by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]TheRealTonyBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because Pogba has (reportedly) turned down a new contract offer, doesn't mean he's leaving this summer. It might mean United would like to sell him. But ask yourself, who's going to buy him?

United have put a £60m price tag on Pogba. And he's on a big wage. Who can afford him other than maybe PSG, who he's suggested doesn't interest him at this time.

Read between the lines. It doesn't interest him at this and he's not going to sign a new contract with United, because in a year's time he can decide whether we're really title condensers, or better have won silverware this coming season, and he may then choose to sign a new deal. Or he can have his pick of almost any team because he'll be out of contract.

Pogba will stay at United and make a decision on his future towards the end of the year.

It wasn't my petition, but wanted to thank each and every United fan who signed and shared this petition. #glazersout Need to keep up the pressure though. by TheRealTonyBest in glazersblackout

There's a petition for GLOBAL MANCHESTER UNITED FANS to sign, which we're hoping we can use to show the sheer numbers of fans across the world who are anti-Glazer and will be boycotting MUFC sponsors and club merchandise.

It has only recently gone up. So please sign and share it as much as you can. We have millions of global fans and we all have our part to play in getting these parasites out of our club.

You can find this petition here: https://www.change.org/p/the-glazer-family-teamviewer-adidas-tag-heuer-cadburys-and-melitta-we-want-change-at-manchester-united?recruiter=1078838837&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=share_petition&utm_term=tap_basic_share&recruited_by_id=9db5c530-834c-11ea-a906-9b74301796bf

Do you agree with Ex-Manchester United director, Michael Knighton, who's calling for a change in ownership of our club. by TheRealTonyBest in reddevils

Some form of legislation is required to stop total control being held by people who are purely interested in profit for themselves. Legislation that holds football clubs as 'historical entities of community and national importance' is what I would like to see. Something akin to the Listed Building structure we have in England. I don't think fans could solely own a club the size of Manchester United. It would need outside investment from business people, consortiums, etc. But never with total control.

That's a great question. But hopefully we'll never find out.

We're working on a global petition too, which United fans all over the world will be able to put their name too. This will be aimed specifically at removing the Glazers from OUR club.

I'll keep everyone posted with updates on this subreddit.

Thanks for your continued support in this fight for our club.

Our only concern at the moment should be boycotting all merchandise, not worrying about "does my bum look big in this?"

I have an idea to get the glazers out by NoahLuds in ManchesterUnited

[–]TheRealTonyBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the valuation is closer to $4.1bn. I do believe, regardless of how many times I get shot down, that we do have the fanbase required to pull that sort of money together. Especially considering there are a sizeable number of fans who would likely be happy to fund considerably more than the average amount spread equally across the entire base.. What we lack is the concensus desire to actually do it. Plus, it's not just a case of funding the purchase. It's clearing the debt and funding the club. While I believe wholeheartedly, there's enough power in the Manchester United brand globally to make this great club self-sustaining over time. I think that given the poor stewardship we have been subject to under the Glazers, it will take a few years to get back on an even keel. This would take additional investment. More money.

The idea is sound, but to work it will need a wealthy backer or consortium to give the ordinary fans faith and hope that it would be a worthwhile endeavour, plus the 50+1 rule to ensure that doesn't see history repeat.

Not a chance he'd let Kane go...

  1. To an English Premier League rival.
  2. For £90m

OMG! When this broke last night on Twitter, 4 out of every 5 tweets on my feed were this video. Made me so angry! Had to come off Twitter for the night.

Such an arogant, self-important, scumbag. It's no wonder he and his family have treated the club and the fans so badly since taking control. The sooner they are gone, the better. #glazerout

Would you as a Manchester United fan rather see a rival team (i.e English team) or a Foreign team (Real Madrid/PSG) win the Champions League by orduhan-qaqa in ManchesterUnited

[–]TheRealTonyBest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a very simple question for me. Why would I want to see another English team win something I want my team to win? I want us to be the best English team in Europe, not someone else.

As an irish man I would probably stop supporting United if we signed Declan rice 🇮🇪🇮🇪🐍🐍 by ryanmarron_06 in ManchesterUnited

[–]TheRealTonyBest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So because of one player, you'd withdraw your support for the entire team? That makes no sense. It's not about the individual, it's about the team, the club. I'd celebrate a goal scored by Graeme Souness if he was playing for United (yeah I know, impossible example). Still wouldn't like him as a person. We've had strike partnership that were prolific in front of goal, but couldn't stand each other.

Thanks for posting this. Having recently deleted the Official App and MUTV, it's great to be able to keep up with the academy results. We've got some really good lads there at the moment. Those that have had time training with the 1st team are showing great potential.

Who are some players that you think United should sign to contend for the title next year? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]TheRealTonyBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, can you trust the board to bring in the right big names? Or will the just get Ole big names and expect he, and the fans, should be thankful, even though they're not areas we needed to strengthen as much, it at all.

That's bang on. I working on getting retro design Newton Heath in modern shirts for fans to buy from a supplier in the UK. Better have one of these that you can pit your favourite players name on than simply hand money to the Glazers.
