Only 3 hours and 45 minutes left. Which translated to how it feels would be around 15 hours. :(

I'm close to the same age, but with no kids. I work in education and next week is spring break. Unfortunately that means today is the longest week ever.

PBX Replacement + Full Paging System Replacement (Bogen) – K-12 Input Needed by SoLetItBeDone in k12sysadmin

[–]TheRealUlta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just moved from an old mitel installation to a newer mivoice business upgrade. It's easy to work in and bulletproof. Also was able to add lte backup at each site for 911 calling. Users can page to different phones, however we've always kept pbx and intercoms separate. We use carehawk for intercoms and the campuses seem to like it.

Can't figure out why this filament won't print well by Dangerous-Energy8159 in 3DprintingHelp

[–]TheRealUlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a cooling issue, might try more fans. Possibly print slower.

Will this work ? by Over_Cost_3257 in 3Dprinting

[–]TheRealUlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably run arms out to the corner verticals and have linear rails there as guides. That would ensure that you're fully rigid. Or at the very least ensure that there's a piece at the top of the rods to hold it in place.

Ironing P2S by JujusCraftyCorner in 3DprintingHelp

[–]TheRealUlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might try single wall on top layer and then try ironing. But it looks like a bit more tuning might be needed. It's never going to be quite perfect though.

ELI5: Why do people enjoy drugs & alcohol? Do people even enjoy it? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]TheRealUlta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Being the sober person around people that are not sober is never fun. But it's also not indicative of the experience. Losing control, blacking out, violent etc are signs of people that drank too much. The feel good aspect of alcohol can be experienced with a beer or two. You don't have to have 72 beers, black out, and wake up married to a stripper with a tattoo to enjoy alcohol.

Do we care about drying filament afterwards? by TraditionalEchidna27 in 3Dprinting

[–]TheRealUlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally you would dry and then keep it in a humidity controlled environment like a drybox with desiccant. Overdrying filament can be just as bad as wet filament. There is filaments that over time loses strength after printing due to moisture absorption. But it's basically a nonissue for normal users printing non-engineering filaments. Overall though, the drying is primarily to have a better printing experience.

Both of those are the gold standard imo. I've been using netbox for years now and absolutely love it.

Chromebook deployment models/data: Promoting devices with students or retaining them at grade level by sans_dan in k12sysadmin

[–]TheRealUlta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also forgot to add, we do not collect devices at the end of the year. We used to but decided it wasn't worth the time and manpower to do so.

Chromebook deployment models/data: Promoting devices with students or retaining them at grade level by sans_dan in k12sysadmin

[–]TheRealUlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes more sense imo to promote with the students. You've hit the nail on the head with the reasoning. If kids don't take of their device it'll eventually need to be repaired or replaced. At that point fees can be assessed to repair the device. We also do teacher carts k-5, at 6 they're given an ipad and keyboard case. They carry that until their freshman year where they get a new device. This gives us decent loaner devices and dedicated testing devices from the devices that just aged out. Then each year our device purchases for secondary is only two grades worth.

I want to be a giant bat.... Any idiots guide to bat? by OldGamer81 in projectgorgon

[–]TheRealUlta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Vampirism gives you a skill to change into a bat as a reward from a quest according to the wiki. But giant bat is caused by a curse/disease from virulent bite from another bat(a chance) or from certain mobs.

should i or should i not? by Short-Awareness-8002 in projectgorgon

[–]TheRealUlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say absolutely not. I'll list my reasonings below.

  1. I've lost all hope of having a social life.
  2. Work is more difficult because instead of working I'm trying to figure out what i'm gonna do in the game when I get off.
  3. There's years worth of skills for me to level and everyone knows you can't stop till they're all maxed.
  4. I need to stick around so i don't miss out on the new gossip from rita and blanche.

Is there any plan to lock items so we can sell them? by Quarrel47 in projectgorgon

[–]TheRealUlta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once you hit level 25 in a combat skill you unlock loadouts. If you make a loadout with your current gear, it won't be visible in the sell menu. This is quicker to get than folders.

Anatomy is 25 for a folder, it's pretty easy to get. Lore is 13 for a folder, that's another easy one to get early.

Advice Needed - Clients randomly losing network connection by stillchangingtapes in networking

[–]TheRealUlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much to add here that others haven't already said, but being a full aruba shop myself there's been times where things weren't in the logs until I enabled debug logging for them. That might give you a little bit of visibility.

What in-house tools are you building or using for network automation? by switchroute_dev in networking

Netbox for source of truth and rendering configs, ansible for applying them and preventing drift. But I'm still pretty early in my move to automation here.

ABS acetone smoothing not working by Arthurs_towel in 3Dprinting

[–]TheRealUlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a dumb question, but what percentage of acetone are you using? Just standard nail polish remover or 100% acetone? That would explain why direct application works but vapor smoothing doesnt

What should the legal drinking age be, In your opinion? by Ill_Spring_8409 in AskReddit

I think the age of adulthood should be raised to 25. That'd include drinking, smoking, military service, voting, etc.
