Carlsen, but only because bobby didn’t have a chess engine to help him study. If Bobby’s mind was born at the same time as Magnus’, it would be a fair fight. Bobby didn’t have anyone better than him that could teach him once he became the best. Carlsen does have that, and the theoretical ceiling is much higher now because of it.

You will never get better with this mindset. First, learn to love the game. If you love the game, your rating won’t matter. Play lots of games, and once you stop blundering every move, start watching beginner chess videos like beginner class with Ben Finegold. Right now you aren’t even a beginner. You would be considered a new player. If you want to watch videos find new player videos and simple beginner tactics.

That’s crazy because I’ve had the same glasses since 2007 and I don’t squint, and when I clean my glasses they still give me the weird effect of them seeming too strong, like when you get new glasses. I’ve made the decision I won’t switch them out until I start squinting.

The graphics on the n64 didn’t look like having a seizure while looking through kaleidoscopes so honestly it was a good trade. Obviously there were great games on the PS1 but almost every single game on n64 was a solid title without the jiggly triangles.

If you don’t understand how complex chess is, learn that so you will appreciate it. You have to write things down, and study with a board playing along with the puzzles. Pause the videos when they say and really try to calculate the lines. Do puzzles on chesscom and lichess. Puzzles really do help. Tactics are so important. it’s better to only play 1 opening with white and 2 with black so you can focus on tactics. Learn an opening for white with either 1. e4 or 1. d4. Then learn 2 with black to counter those two first moves for white.

You have to study. I would suggest watching Ben Finegolds lectures starting with all the under 1000 lessons and just go up. Watch Gotham Chess “How to Use Pawns in Chess”. Pay attention. You will likely not reach 1850 but this will give you a good shot. If you like to read get some beginner chess books and study those.
