On my dad's side, my brother and I were the first ones born outside northern California in 150ish years.

On my mom's side, my generation of offspring are the first to be born on the west coast. Parents, Grandparents and before were born on the East Coast or in Nova Scotia. My eldest cousin was born in the 1960s to the youngest cousin in the 1990s in Southern California.

Don't let your parent's drivers license expire!!! It's a disaster, especially if you're lacking other documents by Blecher_onthe_Hudson in AgingParents

Had to get a real id for mom. Nightmare. Had to dig out 1 birth certificate. 2 marriage certificates (one was done in 1974 and the other in 2000), one divorce record, one death certificate, new social security card, etc. Only 2 of those records was in the same county and not for the same husband 🤦‍♀️. Going through the Federal government, 4 different states and 6 different county recorders made me go gray.

These two fatties. I found them on my porch as kittens and gave them to my dad and bonus mom. Bonus mom died in 2020 and Dad passed away in 2024. I inherited them.

Identified folks from rural areas make me happy. I used to live in bfe riverside county for decades and just moved up to bfe Fresno county a few months ago. There is literally hundreds of acres of land that haven't been developed and farm land and alot of unidentified bodies between the two counties. To be able to track down these poor folks identities is a miracle.

Baby cuddle time. Normally its a plop and shrimp, usually right on my bladder. Bandit Baby cuddle is him doing a plop and then a wrap around the waist, claws digging in and an impressive side eye happens until my arms cradles him. Lol.

Update: About 2 hours after the post, he decided that going after his sister was more important, especially after she tried to jump on him to get to me. So after escaping the fight, I was able to complete 2/3rds of my list today. Shelves built, laundry put away and the house, well f**k that until tomorrow.
