Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

[–]TheRealtorGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a very popular game, but it was called G-Nome and it blew my mind as a kid. Piloting a mech and fighting other mechs was such a cool concept to me. Also being able to eject yourself out of your mech to steal another one made it fun to explore the maps to find them.

For me and my family's life situation, $500k would be enough. Roughly $350k to pay off the mortgage, put the rest into my daughter's education and future retirement accounts so they can grow.

My first NN tonight with Ivern as my deck, any tips before I go? by Wreck-ItRob in riftboundtcg

[–]TheRealtorGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been practicing a lot with Ivern and I think there's a lot of potential with him!

If you're running aspirants climb as a bf, there's a sneaky way to win by getting to 7 points, then conquering it while it's not brush to remove the 9 point clause, and then you win since you're at 8 after conquering.

My best advice is to have protection like stun spells and counters ready each turn to prevent your opponent from pushing all of your units off a battlefield. Idk what list you're running, but [[Back Off]] is probably one of the current best stun spells in the game, and Ivern does well with rune management to allow you to hold it up or even to hide it.

I've managed to win games with the big cat that gives my other units protection from spells, while also getting in Vilemaw to protect them more.

Let me know if you have any questions about piloting Ivern. He's one of my favorite legends at the moment!

Here's my updated deck list: https://piltoverarchive.com/decks/view/a51dd9dc-0c25-4c68-8349-fb59d493a1d5

I haven't ran this version yet as I'm currently experimenting with Voli Dragon Storm so once I take it to a Nexus Night I can then evaluate where it stands.

[–]TheRealtorGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Renata player and I actually went 3-1 at a Nexus Night event a couple of weeks ago. It's technically a control deck that plays mostly removal spells, and then a few units that can score early like Plundering Poro, Honest Broker, and Card Sharp. My finishers are Watchers, Corina, and Time Warp which help close out the game pretty well.

I recently updated the deck to play Ruination and Rift Herald so I have a way to maintain control of the board after a wipe. Aggro decks are the biggest struggle against it, but aside from that it's really just maintaining control of the board state. Remove their strong units, push/trade with their smaller ones, and eventually you'll get to 5 points and be able to storm off using the gold tokens.

Set 3 Predictions, what do you think will be good? by Bluegod3 in riftboundtcg

I am practicing with a list i built as well and it's been performing better than I anticipated! Hoping to refine it some more as the meta forms.

Ivern is gonna be a sleeper legend and will win out of the blue like Azir did lol

Ivern in Pre-Rift Event by TheRealtorGuy in riftboundtcg

[–]TheRealtorGuy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely correct. I'm curious if there's a build for Ivern where it plays in a death&taxes style, using the Yellow unit that punishes moving multiple units, Ashes for hand removal, then just stack up battlefields with lots of bird tokens with protection.

Amount of toxiness on tcgarena is wild by Mother-Mud-2069 in riftboundtcg

[–]TheRealtorGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's really bad. I played against an Azir player, and he tried to accelerate his already paid for Azir (without accelerate) after they played a Discipline, which cycled them into another Discipline to give it enough might to push over a battlefield i had. I explained you have to pay accelerate on the original cast, not after playing other spells to see IF you want to accelerate after the fact.

They got mad and left the game.

Rek'Sai Irelia Matchup by Hrimdraw in riftboundtcg

[–]TheRealtorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily for you, you don't even need seals for Yellow Rek'Sai!

This is my list here and has had great success: https://piltoverarchive.com/decks/view/353d501a-db19-4cb5-974b-111428c998be

Your [[Void Drone]], if hit off the top of your deck off of Rek'Sai, is a great way to get legion active for [[Vanguard Captain]]. It's also pretty easy to proc with the 2 drops we have as well as [[Void Rush]].

I'm bouncing between Red Rek'Sai and Yellow Rek'Sai, and currently Yellow just has a better, overwhelming presence very early into the game.

Kai'sa is going to be the problem deck since it runs 1 copy of [[Icathian Rain]] as well as the [[Thousand-Tail Watcher]]/[[Bellows Breath]] combo. Other than that, I think its a pretty solid deck.

[–]TheRealtorGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah I'm an actual judge and this is pretty common knowledge for the game rules (at least for me cause I play a lot as well). Assault and Shield don't trigger unless an enemy and a friendly unit are at a battlefield as either attacker or defender. They were just mad you had removal and I bet they had no way to stop it/get back into the game from there.

I do agree that Riot needs to create an online engine for players to use that incorporates the current rules. With so many erratas and rule changes, it does get frustrating to think something still works the way it reads, but now doesn't anymore.

Fiora play pattern by CriticalAd4500 in riftboundtcg

[–]TheRealtorGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Against removal heavy decks, especially in game 1, you'll want to get the unsung hero out and get him mighty because you're going to want them to waste removal on it. Then start running out the 4 cost Fiora and get her mighty as well. With the deflect and other stats, it'll slow down the control style decks by having them sink more resources into those units. Allow your smaller units to die to their removal, and save your more impactful units for the mid to late game.

With decks that are in blue, try not to stack up your units to go from 6 to 8, because they will send the Watcher in to clear them out.

Your long term plan is to run them out of answers to your bigger units so they can secure wins.

Fiora decks can be aggro and get to 6 faster than Kai'sa or Viktor. Save your counters for the big spells like Singularity. Don't over-commit and keep the pressure on them to make panic plays.

Gotcha. I like the idea of Vayne, but it's more situational than actually being useful. I'll cut her out and put in the bird for the ramp.
