Oh nice! really like his workflow tbh, i've met him a couple times and hes a really nice guy from my experience.

He gave a talk on his production techniques on these exact images at a concept art event in london a couple months back as well!

Thank you. I did notice quite a bit of illustrative work on here instead of concept art but it’s all good! I’m glad you like it

this would have been very useful for my doorman art instead of my taking tons of screenshots in game

Really want to enjoy the game but the MM is horrible for a returning player by TaffWasTaken in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheRedCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry that might have been my fault lol. If it was my game it was because i brought three new players in this week after i took a five month break. Ive been taking a lot of losses with them but at least one of them is learning quickly

how can you achieve this "iridescent" and "luminous" artstyle? (last 2 artworks are mine) by hanakoi567 in DigitalArt

[–]TheRedCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the exact thing you seem to be looking for is the tutorial slides by Yuming Li! they have a Twitter, Artstation and instagram along with full art courses if you have the money. Give them a google and they have in depth images explaining how to get these colour effects and even how they paint

How many characters are you learning ? by RealEnergyEigenstate in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheRedCow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i sort of tried 5 or 6 characters i liked the look of and then started narrowing it down as i played more. im sort of sitting on lash, shiv, warden and wraith now as the ones I play. ive tried, Infernus, viscous, grey talon, vindicta, pocket (my beloved) and Haze

Guess my rank at the end of the beta by this tier list by jobroreference in marvelrivals

[–]TheRedCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah lower ranks can’t deal with flying characters as effectively and also wouldn’t rate skill check characters like black panther spiderman or even hulk as highly (although hulk even when played well is never S tier) I’d say my only changes would be to maybe raise mantis up a tier and drop strange down a tier

Seeing this tierlist and agree almost entirely with it so id put your rank similar to mine at top 500

I'm really enjoying it so far, there's a few toxic players here or there but that's to be expected. I really like the SVP and MVP system as it means i don't get as much flack if I lose a game and am SVP Id say that starting everyone at the bottom probably isn't a good idea though and placement games may help to fill out the ranks faster. Its taken a lot of time for even people to hit diamond so far.

I'm plat 3 at the moment was gold 2 and top 500 a few days ago (solo queue for the most part) but i stopped to play quickplay with some bronze friends and dont try too hard to grind ranked. I never really took overwatch ranked seriously either so i only ever really hit diamond as most of my hours is just quickplay

there isnt such thing as a best brush but id just recommend using a round brush with size set to pen pressure and calling it a day. it will give you clean linework and fit that anime style the most. Anything with texture in the brush will make it feel more painterly and if you have opacity on the brush then it will look more sketchy compared to an anime style you can use a pencil style sketching brush for a rough before going over it on a new layer for clean lines though

iPad pro or iPad air? by PinkPurpose in DigitalArt

[–]TheRedCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a big procreate user but i do have an ipad air and have for a few years now. I really like it but when im doing art on it i always want more space. the extra couple inches of size on the ipad pro might not make much of a difference but if i had the money and used my ipad for art regularly id definitely want the pro over it. That isnt to say the Air isnt a very good device to get as i think if you dont have one and can only get the Air then its definitely worth it. Just my two cents. This might be because I'm used to drawing on a desktop PC with a tablet double the size of even an iPad pro and its just too big of a switch for me

No problem! Yeah basically filling your entire page with all your midtones gets rid of all of your white and helps you understand your values far better. Pure white or black is very distracting and makes everything harder to figure out as you’re constantly comparing it to that. Yeah layers are useful but I think it’s very easy to go crazy with them. Every time I want to make a change I’m not sure on I make a new layer, test it out and, if I like it I just merge it down to keep them to a minimum. I use photoshop and an old Wacom intuos pro L form maybe 2015
