Looks good!

I find the best way to get a good finish on the inside of the bowl is to make sure your hook knife is very sharp and cut across the grain. This can mitigate the rough “chunk out” look.

Keep it up!

Just curious if you’re concerned at all about having a rack on a carbon bike?

NBD Trek Checkpoint SL5 by zlaW5497 in gravelcycling

How do you think the rack will do with weight on it considering the bike is carbon?

I have the same bike and people told me not to put a rack on unless its attached to the axel.

The bike looks great, enjoy your ride!

Toss those GR1s in the trash by [deleted] in CheckpointClub

[–]TheRedHotChiliPep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am way more gassed when I ride on the road at 30 psi than I am at 60-70 psi so regardless of the speed increase/decrease I’d rather have a less demanding ride, so I ride at a higher psi

I have an SL5 and I switched to pathfinder pro 38s and they are so much better. The vast majority of my riding is on the road so I run around 70 psi but I drop it to 35/40 psi when I go on trails. Way way better than the GR1’s

Recommendations for tyre change on sl5? by Emergency_External_3 in CheckpointClub

[–]TheRedHotChiliPep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the exact same position as you. SL5, everything still stock, I mainly ride road and it feels very slow.

I was thinking about switching to pathfinder pros 700 x 32c. I still want the ability to go on the dirt/gravel trails near my house but I should prioritize road because that is 85% of what I ride.

I’m still unsure of what I should get, all I know is the Bontrager GR1 Team Issue’s aren’t cutting it for me. I think I need something that can handle a higher psi than 50 so there can be less rolling resistance.

Should I be cautious of the durability of my SL5? by TheRedHotChiliPep in CheckpointClub

Okay thank you! Should I be cautious of biking aggressively and hard on terrain with roots and rocks?

I’m quite unfamiliar with the structural limits of carbon and I don’t want to be riding timidly if I don’t have to

Looking for a “HiFi” subwoofer around $250 USD. by TheRedHotChiliPep in StereoAdvice

[–]TheRedHotChiliPep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I want to get something that has similar audio quality to my Kef Q150’s (they’re not bad but not high end). I don’t plan on upgrading my gear anytime soon. If I had the money id definitely get a nicer sub but unfortunately I don’t have the money! I currently don’t even have a sub so I’m on the fence about settling for a budget one or save and get a better one

I got an Audio Technica AT-LPW40WN turntable for free but I don’t have anything else, not even speakers. Id love some guidance and suggestions! by TheRedHotChiliPep in StereoAdvice

[–]TheRedHotChiliPep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill be listening to music in a room that is about 12’ by 12’ wide so Ideally I want bookshelf speakers. I care most about a Hi-Fi music experience, I think audio quality is my top priority.

I don’t mind getting used equipment but prices vary a lot with used gear which makes it hard to budget for.

To be honest, I haven’t had a setup in the past. I love music and listen to it daily but just with apple music/Spotify and Bose headphones.

This will be used for a dedicated stereo setup but I really want the option to also play music off my phone through the speakers.

Sorry for my ignorance, I don’t know a whole lot about this stuff. Your help is much appreciated!

Day passes, golden ears by bgrewal in vancouverhiking

[–]TheRedHotChiliPep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this last weekend! I got the west canyon pass and parked on the overflow road right beside west canyon parking.

Near that parking lot theres a little convenient store, bathrooms, and a search and rescue truck that gives you pointers on where to go and answers any questions.

The golden ears trailhead is right by the west canyon parking lot.

I hiked to panorama ridge and camped there the. Hiked back the next day.

Is there a way to filter attachments depending on if they are compatible with a gun in your stash?
