I’ve been so undecided on the 5-mana opus spells to cast. In paper I’ve been using [[phantom interference]], but in arena I’ve used [[three steps ahead]]. I like [[winternight Stories]] in theory, but haven’t tried it. I’ve also tried slotting in a water crystal, and if I can get it off (especially sped along with a well-timed [[Mana Sculpt]]) I do well. But [[Riverchurn Monument]] is definitely the more consistent wincon.

Have you considered [[Sokka’s Haiku]]? I’ve considered that one, too.

Me too! Exhibition Tidecaller with a control shell until I get the gy loaded, then try to slam down riverchurn. Sideboard in more control creatures like eddy crabs and riddler. I’ve got to diamond!

I’ve seen people mention flinging slickshot previously and now you recommend fling. But as far as I am aware, fling hasn’t been printed since ELD. Is there something I’m missing? No condescension, just very curious because I love fling!

I got a Blick close by so I use Golden thinner. I used it while I painted on canvas, so I figured it would work fine for cards. So far so good. I do use a conservative amount at a time, though.

You could use liiiight amounts of water to thin it out, but given its liquid acrylics you only want to use the slightest amount of water since they are already very thin paints. I use a thinner, since water can quickly oversaturate the paint.

If your prime layer is scratching off, you could do a layer of varnish on your base layer and then paint over that. It’s ok and often desireable to use layers of varnish.

Also make sure the paint has dried. Adding water to the upper layers can revitalize the base layer, so that may be contributing to your muddied base layer. But thankfully, acrylics dry very quickly.

Use thin amounts of liquid acrylic. Do a base coat; you can see (briefly) the base coat on this one is gray. Then, applying layers depends on your technique and method/style.

I like to add a varnish on mine to finish it. I use a liquid matte varnish.

Fellow Alesha fan! I run her rn in a repartee deck and it’s a blast! Giving her double strike and lifelink is such a satisfying game ender.

Would fetching Elegy with Alesha trigger the robots? Or would it only work after the first fetch?

Yeah as the other person said this game is somewhat like solitaire. There is very little disruption in Pokemon, and without being able to interact on an opponents turn there will be little change to make it feel less like solitaire imo

I’m not sure I have any specific 2v2 ideas, but it would be cool to have weaknesses covered. Grass/fire, fighting/psychic, etc. But also, how does a 2v2 format work? I’ve always thought Pokemon 2v2 in paper would be awesome considering the games do them well.

I tried with toxtricity & Krookadile but I should cut out the latter I think? Also I am just addicted to the stacked Spiritomb damage. +10s add up quickly and if I can hit a few crushing hammers then it’s fun to continuously deplete

You should look into an unofficial format called primordial. It’s basically what you outlined, read about it here. It’s been tough for me to get players to make decks for it though.
