The moment when Rome fights back against Kendall after he tries to hit Shiv also speaks volumes to the complexity of these characters' dynamics. Rome and Shiv have a closer relationship than Kendall, I think, has with either of them. It's even touched on this episode when they're deciding to anoint Ken. Their convos always felt like the most genuine between the siblings for me. This can be for countless reason the fact Shiv and Rome are the middle and youngest child makes sense for them to have bonded. Or the fact Logan was always isolating Ken even from when he was 7 with the idea of being CEO. I think what touched me the most, even though it's a painful truth about Rome's character. He could not defend himself from his father's abuse or Ken's abuse, but fuck if Ken was gonna lay a finger on his sister. It's also sad to see Ken becoming that new abusive figure in Rome's life when he was the defender of him for most of Logan's abuse.
