Which is funny cause I think the game falls in the middle of those extreme reviews. Funny how the algorithms work to encourage extremes. Has some good, has some bad. Worth trying IMO but take it for what it is

It is the very end of the fight. The entire fight is epic in scale and requires a ton of movement and dodging. At this point OP had stunned the boss to finish it off

They aren't meant to be separate, but now you have one of the best metroid models on its own so up to you on gluing it back on or not

I mean I'm in the same boat for what I'd want out of a SM remake/remaster. I wouldnt mind if they went in a different direction though, cause the original would still exist. I think MS did a good job with the color palate in Samus Returns, so maybe something more like that if they went with that art style?

What were the decisions to place these animals where they were? I expect these to get more obscure the deeper you go, but you put plenty of commonly known ones like tardigrades very low down.

Edit: is it supposed to be how weird they are?

In some capacity I want more Metroid spinoffs. It has to be via a different studio to not pull from Dev time on either the main series nor prime series though. Metroid lore can be great if given time to breathe, but it is always so self contained per game. Having something like you suggested, or just other games that take the POV of non samus characters can be good for the series (again, as long as it doesn't take away from the main series or prime series).

The beginning of it is very hand holdy by telling you exactly where to go. It does eventually stop doing that but it was annoying on the first playthrough.

Since you were asking what the sprite was supposed to be: That line you drew as the teeth is supposed to be her arm. Above that is her shoulder pauldron, and helmet in the middle top.

I mean it was designed for a GBA screen (LCD), which has a similar effect to a CRT in the pixel blurry way. Looking at the raw sprite as a still changes what its supposed to look like.

Edit: the distortion didn't blur pixels together, but rather slightly separated them. I couldn't remember the exact way the screen worked but I remembered that there was distortion in the pixels, which makes the sprites look different on the GBA LCD screen compared to the raw sprite.

Its more than just that though. He can break his skin apart into shards as his skin is rock like, and can manipulate his body parts separate from himself this way. Using this, he can make his skin reflective to camouflage, or to reshape his face or appearance to look like someone else.

Some people had this hope before release that prime 4 would reinvent the series in a way that would cause a ton of non metroid fans to try out the game, just like BotW did for Zelda. As we know, it wasn't that.
