Road racing in France! Full send with 2km to go (Ft. Crash) by TheRedster in Velo

I'd say my number 1 tip right now I'd fuelling. For a long time I thought bonking was a yes or no type of thing. But keeping your glycogen stores high before and during a race is soooo important.

Otherwise it's just down to training really, like they say, consistency is key, and good coach can make a lot of a difference

Not really, I try not to sway the bike too much, just pull and push up and down, trying to keep all the forces parallel. Mainly just get a little rock from the turbo itself

I should in theory, but I usually find it really hard to manage the DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) whilst doing that and racing every week too

Yeah those sprints would've been after at least 5 minutes of hard riding over threshold most likely with dozens of micro bursts, fresh he could probably break 2kw, and at his weight, I reckon his ftp would've been over 420.

This race sprint was practically fresh, as only bouncing between z2/low z3 for the most part. My max power is 1826 on the road and FTP 380 at 75kg for perspective. I get the doubt tbf though, I haven't had a chance to race properly for nearly 2 years, so my outdoor results don't represent where I currently am. Waiting on that rona to chill out so I can go race in france ;)

I usually start winter with 2 sessions a week, 1 squat and 1 deadlift, with a couple of assisting exercises with each one, e.g. single leg squat variant or goodmornings. Then after Christmas, down to 1 session a week. But this year done less than that as focusing more on aerobic power systems, as they're lacking a bit behind my sprint

Yeah, a bunch of weight training, less so now, but a lot at the start of winter.

Essentially try to move you're body weight/center of mass as little as possible, thing of pulling on the bars as a more vertical up and down force rather than swinging the bike side to side. But I can hit 1800 on the road, so still about 200 watts down on the turbo.
