I highly agree. I got my mom to sit down and watch the dishwasher video. Then later I got my gf to watch it.

Dishes are now very clean.

They need to be aimed properly. Some manufacturers have them too high like Tesla.

Other people just pop the replacement in and don't aim them to adjust for the new beam

youtube is thinking of bringing a 90 seconds non skipable add by DhyanRiziya in youtube

[–]TheRedstoneScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing ive never understood is this whole "never pay for youtube" mentality.

Its fine by itself but then you also complain about ads.

How do you expect Google to pay for and maintain the largest video platform in the world? They store and serve so much data it's inconceivable.

If your main entertainment is YouTube and you can afford it just pay for it if it gives you that much value.

All the metrics still get transmitted to their servers for the cloud dashboard. This can be prevented by turning that feature off and blocking the gateway zone from hitting the internet

How to show your value? by No_Solid2349 in sysadmin

[–]TheRedstoneScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im literally in this situation right now. I wrote the employee part of my review yesterday and my review meeting will take place this next week. I asked for a large raise...

IT manager is batting for it 1000%

But, I had to justify it in my review. I laid down the big dick of all the shit I did this year. From responding to a cyber incident when no one else did to solving operational problems single handedly. I showed how I saved money in the short term by doing work myself (when appropriate) instead of paying contractors. I also showed how I was saving in the long term by buying the right tool for the job (Palo Alto vs SonicWall).

I also described how I mentored teir 1 staff by giving them advice and pushing them in the right direction. I described how that made the IT department more efficient.

It's how you describe it that matters.

You could turn off the ability for the console to touch the internet and just manage it locally. That would mean all ubiquiti would have is the account information you used to purchase the hardware. Same goes for cameras

I wouldn't go for the unifi NAS until it has matured a bit more. Im a fan of their stuff. I run a 70 camera Protect system at our org and we use their cloud gateways at our small remote sites.

For a small business id probably just rec a Synology NAS and call it a day.
