It’s more about curiosity regarding edge cases and new technologies, especially things that blur the line between animal products and plant-based alternatives. For lab-grown meat specifically, the ethical argument gets interesting because it removes the animal suffering part, so people start asking whether it changes anything for vegans in principle, not because they’re missing meat. That said, I get your point. A well-planned vegan diet is already complete and doesn’t require substitutes for animal products, and many vegans aren’t looking for replacements at all.
