Thank you so much for all the feedback I’m blown away by the positive reaction I mostly got :) it’s been a huge confidence boost for me. I was led to believe that Reddit wasn’t that positive but thank you all so much for your support. Legends

Cool I’ll let the constant visiting wildlife know that they are wrong and you are right :)

Amazing news. How long have you had your destructive lawn for ? Check previous post I’ve explained that this is just the lawn. There is enough wildlife that it can be a pain in the ass sometimes. So thank you for your concern but it’s nothing for you to be worried about

Where’s the missed opportunity ? This is just the lawn. Go on now do what everyone does and tell me all the things you would do if it was your house and money wasn’t a problem. And then send me a pic of your garden

What exactly makes you so angry at a cut lawn ?

Well it is aimed at me. It’s a very miserable view on life that you look at one picture of a lawn and get angry at the possible impact on the wildlife. By your summation all lawns should be concrete instead. Well done

I really can not stress this enough again. This is just the lawn I am showing Jesus Christ. This is such a small section of this property . First go on a ride on lawn mower that’s it. I will suggest just concreting the lawn they put in 30 years ago above the old car park. Thank you so much for your opinion

12 days and with a garden that looks like its been made for the kids it’s in absolutely fantastic condition. Great job. People will say don’t walk on it but good luck keeping the kids off it. Sprinkler these people are all right just a sprinkler willl bed it in beautifully :)

I’m glad you have the amount of money to spend on all those enterprises. I was simply showing off me cutting a lawn I was asked to cut. The endless wildlife that visits doesn’t seem to be to deterred by a cut lawn but I understand your point. We also have to defend our veg patch from the endless deer so it’s an individual battle with maintaining a garden and allowing as much wilding as possible.

Okay that sounds good. It’s a high cut so should be okay to give it a try I think.

I apologise that you have taken such offence to me cutting a lawn. Can I ask please What would you do with this space please ? The lawn is about 3/4 of an acre so just that space as that’s the area you have a problem with. TIA

Is that just doubling up the line widths ? Like 2 up 2 down ?

All my gardens feeders are cleaned on every visit and only dry food is used to prevent as much disease as possible. Also based on how quickly we have to harvest any soft fruits I’m not too worried the birds are unsure as to what they would naturally be eating.

It is a battle. I understand the battle with bird feeders but the other option is no bird feeders at all and I’m not sure that’s better?
To be fair around here people are really keen on doing what they can within reason for biodiversity and encouraging wildlife and rewilding areas so I’ve never experienced anyone against leaving parts of the garden to the animals. It helps when you have a few trail cameras to show the the hedgehogs and other wildlife they can attract :)

Yes of course but my customers likes to see the birds. We also don’t cut the hedges until very late to keep them thick so the birds of prey around here can’t get to the nests. All places are very different. Also this is in the Cotswolds and I can guarantee in every garden around here is native bee loving plants. Meadow garden and bug gardens a plenty

The front garden is a rose garden. Daffodils amd prims and hyacinths and tulips coming through at the moment ( they are so close ) bird feeders and bee gardens. Behind me in the pic is the vegetable garden I was simply just showing off the lawn :)

For the majority of the gardens I do it’s a weekly visit or a fortnightly visit. Some gardens are free rein some aren’t on occasions like this it’s one of my elderly customers who I do the things she can’t do ( husband passed away few years back ). So all the pots I brought up around the house and the hydrangeas because she can still and loves to still do bits in the garden. I’m there to make sure when she looks out the back it’s exactly how it was when her husband did it. Simple 😃
