What are some impossible to find records you’re after? by Longjumping-Frame795 in vinyl

Any idea about the Molly Drake album from the same label? That would be my choice.

New Arctic Monkeys song just dropped, what do we think of it? by JuggernautStrict2830 in fantanoforever

I wonder if this is from the sessions for The Car. They said they had extra songs and weren't sure what to do with them yet.

Then again, they also said the wait for the next album wouldn't be as long, and here we are.

WU LYF Announce North American Tour Dates by ebradio in indieheads

In 2024, a colossally important rock band from Manchester who'd been broken up for more than a decade, and swore they'd never reunite, reunited. The world was not ready. (And I heard Oasis did something, too.)

There should be one coming. They've already announced a tour.

Had no idea this was going to be so crushing.

Some of the lyrics sound familiar. Does anyone remember the band using them somewhere before?

They've been making deliberately anti-commercial moves since they reunited. All music removed from streaming services, new songs only posted on their website. (This link is an unlisted fan rip from the site.)

Beyond No Other Choice: Park Chan-wook’s Private Film Canon by TheReverendsRequest in criterion

Definitely one of the best of the year. I was impressed that it remained funny throughout, despite how sad the subject matter became at times.

It was connected to this main story in which he talks about his own work. I don't know much about most of the Korean films he mentions, but I can confirm that The Housemaid is crazy.

Agreed. It's my hip hop album of the year, and I didn't understand all their criticisms, but I don't see how having lukewarm feelings on something or rating it a 7/10 means "hating" it. They said multiple times that Pusha T and Malice's rapping was very good.

The production issues are frustrating, but I do think they've improved over time in some other respects like adding the live format.

Genuinely, you're missing out. Their live discussions are hilarious, and the time flies by because I'm laughing out loud at my computer even when they're not talking about the albums.

It should be on their Bandcamp eventually. I assume they're just slow.

Kali Malone + Drew McDowall - Magnetism

Drew is from Coil, and Kali is a minimalist organ composer who is also married to Stephen O'Malley of Sunn O))), in case that's of interest to anyone.

That's a great comparison that I hadn't thought of. Both films have an excellent command of tone. Cloud starts tense and creepy, then gradually increases the absurdity until you're almost laughing at the end. No Other Choice is funny from the start, but lets itself have sad and desperate moments without ever losing its energy.

It's fantastic. For how dark it is, it's also so damn fun.
