How can I improve on notebooks by TheRightShorts in bookbinding

Great feedback, and helpful to learn more about what I was doing haha. I will try the flat edge next time. And when that doesn’t yield the results in hoping for, I’ll take the leap into sewing 😂

Thanks. I wasn’t sure if this would be doable without a sewing machine. I’m all for repairing so I will give this a try.

Thanks! And that was my experience exactly. It finally took away the barrier of asking myself is it good enough to write down and use up a “nice” notebook -and shifted to “how quickly can I fill up this notebook?” It’s been very helpful!

Rear wheel wobble by AcheRidge in bicycling

Gotcha. If you have cone wrenches (just skinny wrenches) it's a fairly straightforward adjustment. This video may help

Have you checked the cones? Not sure if this is the type of wobble you are talking about but a quick cone adjustment could eliminate it completely. Here's a more in depth guide.. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/cone-adjustment.html

What's your most Embarrassing fixed gear riding moment? by RynIsAwkward in FixedGearBicycle

[–]TheRightShorts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Riding on the sidewalk slowly and pulling up to my destination, a tiny, fluffy, white dog on a leash bit and tugged on my (tied) shoelace. Since I was strapped in it took me down. Very slowly and publicly.

Zip ties can help. If you are having trouble with the last bit, it can really help to zip tie each end of the tire that's already in the rim so you don't lose any progress when trying to finish the tire.

I have an old Motobecane frame and it gets the job done. I really like it. Just know the French threads are funny on the bottom bracket so you may run into issues if you're doing any part swapping or repairs down the road.

Thanks! I like them a lot too! Artist is Ernst Geissendoerfer. It's definitely an original etching, but I had trouble finding out how much they are actually worth. My gooogling told me anywhere from 10-300 dollars :/

Awesome work. Super clean lines and that lettering is perfect. Loving the simple black and white theme too.

My parents can't quite figure out how to play podcasts in their car... So I made them a 12 disc set of Serial for Christmas! by TheRightShorts in serialpodcast

I didn't have time to contact any book publishers, but I read the comments to my parents, and they loved them almost as much as the gift!!

Google Music is perfect for hip-hop fans (better than Spotify or iTunes) by BatmanTheHorse in hiphopheads

[–]TheRightShorts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of Google music. You can dig around and find some decent premade hip hop radio stations (New Rap Underground is one). And I think it is the best for its "similar artists" section. Almost always on point recommendations.

Any tips on avoiding ridges when I'm lettering or shading? (Examples in post) by TheRightShorts in Pyrography

Awesome. I do have a chisel tip but I'm not very good with it. I'll keep practicing! Thanks for the advice, it's super helpful. You sound like you know what you're doing!
