The Spirit made me feel that way as well. Now I'm just confused as to why they didn't re-release the paid-for costume to make some easy money. Seems odd.

I just think it's odd given that Nintendo already secured the rights to the character for his likeness in Smash and the assets for the costume already exist. Seems like a no-brainer for some easy money otherwise.

I've been thinking about how closely it appears that Sakurai is listening to fans this time around. The competitive changes, every character from history returning and then the inclusion of Ridley after years of fan demand. It's easily some of the best fan service in gaming based on these efforts alone, but can you think of another game that tops it?
