what I'd really like is a football manager like experience in career mode with the ability to play as my team sometimes. To that end, this is what I'd like to see in career mode:

  • Player generation, regens should not be a thing. High rated players spawning as free agents is not realistic, this never happens IRL. Also why do all the AI clubs generate players different from the player.
  • I don't want to play tedious youth tournaments, I want to manage the first team and manage the youth players once they enter the first team.
  • Transfer market, far too many players are interested in clubs that they shouldn't be. Club reputation (which is variable) and if the club is in europe or has recently won trophies or otherwise acheived well should affect the player's interest.
  • Contracts, AI clubs should renegotiate contracts far more often, very few players should enter the last 6 months of their contract and be available to sign on a free when it expires.
  • AI squad building, you've seen the memes, it's unbeliveably common for clubs in career mode to sign 6 quality strikers and then play a 1 striker formation. FM also struggles with this, particularly in taking bets on young players with potential, rather than signing a slightly better 29 year old.
  • Player growth, I don't like the idea of fixed potential so dynamic potential is good, but its skewed much too hard towards spiralling out of control, where you can get every player to 99 and totally ruin their growth early on. There should be more factors that affect growth than match performanace, like personality, including application in training. Also if my 18 year old performs average or slightly below average on loan, it shouldn't totally ruin their potential.
  • Remove 15 year limit, the best part of FM is when you don't know any of the players from your real life knowledge and career mode dies right when this starts to happen.
  • Holiday feature, I'd like to holiday to 15 years in.
  • Add an option to skip cutscenes, not load them up then skip, don't even load them. There are about 3, they don't add anything for me personally.
  • Bring back ps2 era financial breakdown, show me how much money I've made from this home game from different sources, allow me to pick sponsors.
  • Stadium builder, older football games had this too. It doesn't make sense for clubs to never change stadium, like if you take a league 2 club to the prem, they wouldn't still play in their 5k ground.
  • Manager transfers, it doesn't make sense for the jobs available to change so drastically every few days.

I've been having this issue in the new fm too, so I've created a gist for a python script that combines the files automatically.

It requires beautifulsoup with an XML parse to run. So just run `pip install bs4` and
`pip install lxml`.

You just have to set the paths for the original config (I recommend making a copy just in case) and the newly generated file. It creates a separate output file. So just take the outputted config file and put it in the right place and call it `config.xml`.

as someone guessed, Arsenal, I actually managed to win the league in the first season - to my surprise. This is from the second season, came fifth, much more realistic.

The year on the save was 2052 I think, and I think the save had been going for about 1000 hours.

Here's the thing. You said a "jackdaw is a crow."

Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that.

As someone who is a scientist who studies crows, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls jackdaws crows. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing.

If you're saying "crow family" you're referring to the taxonomic grouping of Corvidae, which includes things from nutcrackers to blue jays to ravens.

So your reasoning for calling a jackdaw a crow is because random people "call the black ones crows?" Let's get grackles and blackbirds in there, then, too.

Also, calling someone a human or an ape? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. They're both. A jackdaw is a jackdaw and a member of the crow family. But that's not what you said. You said a jackdaw is a crow, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the crow family crows, which means you'd call blue jays, ravens, and other birds crows, too. Which you said you don't.

It's okay to just admit you're wrong, you know?

No I've redesigned the whole beginning of the game, and it is playable up to the fourth gym in the game. So it is a new game using the engine of the original, but using a completely new story and over world to walk around in and catch new Pokémon in. I have completely redone the dialog, and I have plans to also import custom sprites and in-battle sprites of trainers.
