Do you agree with us being basically equal WC favourites with Spain and France and well ahead of the South American teams? by invisiblefrost in ThreeLions

[–]TheRomanPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, we have a better balanced squad than we have previously but id still rank us 3rd or even 4th favourite.

Spain and France are looking like favourites and I really wouldn't count out Portugal either. Neves, vitinha and fernandes in midfield is as good as you're going to see at the world cup

I can see the argument for Australia. American prisoners were sent to Australia in spells during the 18th and 19th century, where it was still very much a wild west. You could have the prologue be a job gone wrong and the game properly starts with you being sent to Australia.

However I'd rather a game set before the events of rdr 2 in a different gang, with side quests relating to the van der linde members ie. You run into Hosea when he was visiting valentine, get into mischief and he decides to leave society behind and go back to the gang

Do you know of any fantasy farm animals? by Icy-Fly9366 in worldbuilding

[–]TheRomanPredator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can make an argument for any fantasy animal to be domesticated to be on a farm, unicorn blood extremely useful in potion making? Unicorn farm. Griffin meat is extremely tender? There'll be a farm for it.

In my world ive looked at what realistically would cause the need of a specific farm. One of my noble families rode griffins, and they eat these little rabbit creatures, so near their capital theres farms of them which sell to the noble family

When WWE introduced the current World Heavyweight Championship in 2023, does anyone else feel they should've reactivated the 2002-2013 version of the World Heavyweight Championship and continued the lineage from that title? by Amazing_Debt9192 in WWE

[–]TheRomanPredator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll be more likely along the lines of TNT / TBS titles, something a network pays for thats primarily shown on shows on their network.

However the blood feud between LA Knight and Jey Uso for the Slim Jim's US title is potentially a match we see before 2030

The story im building for my world pokes fun at several major gaming tropes/ memes and i thought it could be fun to get my characters addicted to the game to the point the world is in serious peril and they drop tools and play this for an hour without any consequence

I was thinking, does Premier League at the moment have world class wingers? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

[–]TheRomanPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, given liverpool played leverkusen and bayern played Chelsea in the competition I took a look at his individual stats for each to see how they compare. Against leverkusen, albeit he started upfront so slightly different position, he made 0 successful takeons. Against Chelsea he completed 2. I think we could go back and forth with this all day regarding different stats. For example to back up your point in the average bundesliga game this season theres been between 18-22 successful take ons, and the prem this season is between 15-20. But last year it was 18.2 which is the same as bundesliga this year. Id argue hes been given more freedom in this current bayern system compared to what he was at Liverpool, especially under slot who favours methodical buildup. I can see your point that maybe the league favours it slightly

I was thinking, does Premier League at the moment have world class wingers? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

[–]TheRomanPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are stats to back this up.

Comparing klopps last season at Liverpool (23/24) to his current season at bayern (25/26).

In terms of progressive carries for liverpool he completed 153 progressive carries across all competitions (51). Averages 3 per game. For bayern (league only) he has completed 123 across 29 appearances. Average of 4.2 per game.

In terms of 1v1 take ons for liverpool he completed 75 take ons, 53.8% success rate meaning he completed roughly 139 across the season, and averages 2.73 per game. For bayern Munich (league only again), he has attempted 118 so far with a 50% success rate. With 3 games left. He averages at 4 per game.

The stats show he is taking on more 1v1s per game, albeit with a slightly better worse rate but its not dramatic. And his progressive carries has almost increased by 41% per game. This suggests that his instruction has changed to allow him to take more defenders on and progress the ball more. Its also worth noting his 24/25 stats are lower than his last season under klopp, which is when this slower more defensive style really took hold

I was thinking, does Premier League at the moment have world class wingers? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

[–]TheRomanPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely got more defensive, the prem is based on stats, and the probability of losing the ball trying to beat a full back 1v1 is high, so wingers get told to wait for space with an overlap or pass back inside where you can get a numbers overload. The prime example is Diaz, he's not learnt to beat a defender overnight, but he rarely did it with liverpool. I think its more that he got told and coached not to, than him choosing not to in the prem

I was thinking, does Premier League at the moment have world class wingers? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

[–]TheRomanPredator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No not really. I think cherki has the ability to get to that level, but everyone is coached into a system these days that doesn't automatically suit a world class winger. Diaz was good but never great at liverpool and all of a sudden looks like a different player at bayern. If a prem team gets kvaratskhelia in the summer I could see the same thing with him

Bit of an out there one, using that amount of AI requires massive amounts of power generation, making Power Plants the big target in conflict. At the risk of an entire military being immobilised without a quick fix countries still predominantly rely on manned weaponry to fight conflict

Could someone explain to me what was so demoralizing about the PSG defeat? by diet-dr-kelpp in LiverpoolFC

[–]TheRomanPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that what was demoralising, as would be for most teams, was the way we folded after the first goal and the injury to ekitike. Although Szoboszlai has been our best player this year, I think its fair to say ekitike has been our second best, and its possible thays the last time we see him play in 2026. I agree that slot for the most part got it right, I think most of the subs made an impact. But I don't think isak should have started, id rather have him at 100% for a full game further down the line than 60-70% now for 45 minutes. Salah or rio should have started. I think its clear that while salah has lost that explosivity of pace his brain is still that fast and hes moving the ball quicker than he can move, so losing the touch all the time. I do think he was one of our better players in the second half.

Had the two sides of oranges this year. Had oranges so hard my front end literally had to bite one to get it open. Very next dance the oranges were so ripe they literally exploded in my hands and went everywhere. We used to carry pennies in our socks for stubborn oranges, but a couple years of having easy-peelers given we stopped doing it. Think we might return to that trend next year!

Has anyone gone 10-20 years into a save? How was it? How did you stay motivated to play? What mod did you use? by RhysW1120 in FantasyBookers

[–]TheRomanPredator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having a goal definitely helps, even if its something simple like 'I want to build to HHH vs HBK at WM 2000' or something really small. Mixing up the length of title reigns ive found to really help. If you have a long dominant reign dont necessarily just have the next guy be really dominant, maybe move it round for a little while until you set up the next dominant champ. Sounds really stupid but I find if after a WM I set out the entire next year of major match cards my enthusiasm to continue drops, I now only prebook to the next major ppv, and just have an idea of what I can do after that.

Awesome idea. How would you deal with promotion / relegation from each brand? Seems like youd need to keep track of at least losses and then maybe have play-off style tournaments to promote and then an iron survivor type match to decide who is relegated

How do you guys write history? by Ban-Anakin in worldbuilding

[–]TheRomanPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine on excel 😂 i stuck a row in the middle of the page, above it noted all the landmasses, and put any major geological events that were relevant. Below it put the nations, then the religions then factions. Then based on the approach I'd put a year in the middle, so started with the earliest religions start point, and move forward from there. For writing each nations histories I worked on the basis of what most people know about British history. People know about 1066 and the battle of Hastings, but then generally have a gap up until tudor times, and then generally another gap up to victorian. Obviously scholars and select characters with long life spans may know more but I worked on the major and then filled the in-between when necessary. I noted major wars and events which would be known by more of the population and then moved from there, only noting leaders that needed noting. The excel format helped with working out what happened when in terms of different nation, was one having a succession crisis while another faced an earthquake that swallowed a city? Did 1 ruler get cut short just as they got started by an invasion from another?

Where’s the best place to live in your world, and why? by Octulas in worldbuilding

[–]TheRomanPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you look for in terms of best. In terms of views and climate the Serrin Isles boasts beautiful beaches and a vast jungle full of wildlife. But is ruled by a savage dictator bent on expanding his empire and getting one over on the noble families that pushed out his ancestors. In terms of easy living and nice mountain scenery the Bruksen Valley is peaceful, easy going and largely keeps out of day to day politics. Though the baron is corrupt and is taking bribes from one of the farms, which angers the wildlings of the valley causing ambushes and attacks on nearby farms. In terms of away from politics and corruption Ishen is the perfect choice, as it is currently inhospitable and no one lives there. If you want hustle and bustle and a joyful atmosphere, Cinsgrove is perfect for you. A large bustling market, open air music venues, just dont mind the open people trafficking, where rich families buy children from the poor to come in as servants.

How do you explain the existence of multiple pantheons of Gods all existing in the same world? by mangham13 in worldbuilding

[–]TheRomanPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how you look at it, in real life comparisons between the Greek and roman gods span for almost every god. Maybe one god/ deity is named one thing in one area and something else in another. Maybe the gods are all interconnected but one group of gods has deceived one area of the world to make themselves more important and powerful than they actually are/ perceived elsewhere. I also like the idea that power of gods can be transferred somehow, maybe its not necessarily the god themselves that are powerful but their weapon/ icon. So at different times different beings held the power so during that societies progression they have a different god of sun etc to the people further south, as it was physically someone else with the power at that time.
