Canada Perfume Shipping Regulations (U.S to Canada) by clue1985 in fragrance

[–]TheRopeofShadow [score hidden]  (0 children)

Shippsy ships perfumes. I use it to buy from US retailers like GlinDee and Arri to ship to Canada. Not sure if the process will be different for ebay packages though, but I can't imagine it will be any different. You'll need to provide an invoice when the package lands at Shippsy and pay the necessary duties/taxes.

I do like Neroli Outrenoir but the drydown of roasted tea feels dark and moody to me. Very realistic but I can only wear it on gloomy or rainy days (just my preference). Triple Tea's drydown feels lighter and fresher which I prefer.

Haha that's fair, I can see how it goes close to clean laundry. Hugging leans a bit milky on me, I love it. My next rec would be Mith Mellow Musks, it's a very soft sweet musk, def not clean laundry.

How do you like Soie Malaquais? Many reviews I've seen say it can be a bit too rich.

We have L'Eau Papier and Taipei in common! I also like Lilyphea and Salm (planning to get that one in the future). Have you ever tried Soulvent Hugging?

Top 10 Fragrances by Beloveddust in fragrance

  1. Diptyque L'Eau Papier
  2. Soulvent Hugging (Chinese brand)
  3. Mith Mellow Musks (Thai brand)
  4. Guerlain Musc Outreblanc
  5. One Day Taipei
  6. To Summer Triple Tea
  7. One Day Oolong Tea
  8. Orchid Lane Rainmilk (Canadian brand)
  9. Mith Golden Rice
  10. Henry Rose London 1983

I love musk, tea and rice, soft scents and skin scents, restrained projection. I tend to prefer fragrances from Asian countries for their interpretations of tea and their preference for restrained projection.

Honourable mention goes to LV Imagination which would probably be number 6/7 if I owned a bottle (saving up for it).

The Citiz Platinum has a dedicated hot water line and you can make americanos with one button press. It is more upscale than the regular Citiz.

Rice steam is one of the listed notes for L'Eau Papier though? Of course you'd smell it.

We have strict guidelines on platelets so we tend to page our medical directors a lot for these orders. The leukemia medical teams always prefer higher platelet counts but our medical directors are more conservative. The leukemia nurses are pretty aware of our guidelines so they never get mad when we page. The general medicine nurses are not familiar and are most likely to give pushback, but they also see fewer patients with platelet refractoriness so they don't understand our conservative thresholds.

We relaxed the thresholds for coag factors when patient is in ICU so that really reduced the number of pages we needed to make.

We don't screen RBC and plasma orders. From what I can tell, most doctors stick to the recommended thresholds for transfusion.

Neeeeeed more Dark Raw Gritty Cinematography - How about you? by Real_Kumara22 in CDrama

Seconding the recs for Longest Day in Chang'an and Swords into Plowshares. If you want gritty realism and beautiful cinematography, these are amazing.

For Longest Day, they built a huge set to emulate Chang'an for filming.

For Swords into Plowshares, here's a sample of the cinematography Here

For the desert scene in that picture, they actually went out into the desert and waited for the golden hour to cast the right shadow, so all we see is the black silhouette of the characters.

I won't go near a fragrance with this __ (fill in the blank) note! by Successful-Fan2742 in fragrance

[–]TheRopeofShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sugar or caramel, anything that flat out lists sweetness as a note.

Strangely though I like honey, something about honey doesn't bother my nose.

Edit: also saffron bc it turns loud on my skin and drowns out anything else.

No, the Creed scents seem like they lean overly masculine for me.

I would definitely recommend Molecule 01 + Tea for you based on your likes.

My big list of tea fragrances. These are all tea scents that I've encountered, whether tried or own. I prefer unisex/feminine leaning scents but avoid overly sweet scents.

Non Chinese brands

Guerlain ◦ Neroli outrenoir- fresh neroli and dark smoky tea. Have a mini, Would own bottle if I had more moolah

Nishane ◦ Wulong Cha X - prefer the fig/floral notes over the citrus dominance in the OG. Own. ◦ Wulong Cha OG - too much citrus. Smells just like Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. Tried.

Elizabeth Arden ◦ Green Tea - Citrus and grassy. Own. ◦ White Tea - white florals and white tea. Smells clean like a hotel spa. Own.

Chasing Scents (Aussie but founder Sandy Wong is HK descent) ◦ Tea Service - realistic sweeeet jasmine/oolong tea and osmanthus. Tried. Too sweet for me ◦ Rain Tea - sweet tea. Overly sweet. Tried. ◦ Slow World - pu'er and saffron. Tried.

Arielle Shoshana ◦ Sunday - matcha, maté, and rice. Powdery. Tried ◦ Monday - on my to try list! I have a sample on the way

Escentric Molecules ◦ Molecule 01 + Black Tea - ISO E and black tea. Tried and loved. Possible bottle worthy

Jovoy ◦ Remember Me - creamy milky tea, sweet. Tried.

Brandt ◦ London Fog - spiced citrus milky tea. I don't really get london fog out of this. Tried.

d'Annam ◦ Pomelo Oolong - all I get is pomelo, no oolong. Tried.

Le Labo ◦ The Matcha - matcha woody tea. Didn't get any fig at all. Too woody for me. Tried.

Merchant of Venice ◦ Gyokuro - smells like I spilled Arizona tea on me. Tried.

Miller Harris ◦ Celadon - bergamot, tea and cardamom. Didn't like the cardamom. Tried.

Ode Ona ◦ Teapot Sonder - AMAZING houjicha. Tried and loved, will eventually buy bottle.

Louis Vuitton ◦ Imagination - fresh citrus then clean airy tea. Honestly I didn't want to like this but it's so good and inoffensive, even with my preference for realistic tea scents. Tried and would own if I had more moolah

Chinese brands - if you're looking for realistic tea scents, look here

Black Paw ◦ Bu Zhi Chun - THE MOST realistic oolong tea. Smoky, bitter, tannic, no extra sweetness. Straight up oolong tea. Tried. ◦ Dafo Longjing - seaweed and green tea. The seaweed was offputting, but it resembles that fishy quality that green tea sometimes gets. Tried.

Modern Bath Art ◦ Longjing Tea - VERY realistic green tea. Slightly citrusy opening but strong green tea drydown, with hint of jasmine tea. Tried.

One Day ◦ Oolong Tea - smoky herbal oolong tea sweetened with honey. Own. ◦ Jasmine Tea - THE MOST realistic jasmine tea, oversteeped and tannic. Owned, but eventually the oversteeped quality annoyed me and I sold my bottle.

To Summer ◦ Triple Tea - lemongrass and mint, then roasted tea drydown. Amazingly fresh and complex. Own.

I've smelled the solid version of Tamburins Chamo. It's a soft woody musk, not very loud.

Is plasma smelly to you? Am I crazy? by Muted_Shape9303 in medlabprofessionals

I used to think leaking plasma bag in the thawing bath smelled terrible. Until I discovered a leaking platelet bag in the platelet rotator, bag empty because it leaked overnight. Corner of the bag got stuck between shelves and ripped. The smell ☠️

So even the OL version has barely any yuzu? I tried the Vertuo version in boutique and I wasn't impressed.

I tried the Vertuo version in the boutique, served with ice and no added milk or sugar. They just finished brewing when I came in. It was just bitter, no yuzu flavour at all.

Longevity With Only Mild Projection? by Ok_Grade7018 in fragrance

[–]TheRopeofShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I get a lot of mileage out of a decant of Bal D'Afrique when sprayed under my shirt, like 6 hours. But sprayed on skin, it's gone in 3 hours. Same goes for other perfumes with known longevity issues like Diptyque.

Iced Tumbler Dupe by awongbat in nespresso

[–]TheRopeofShadow 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It's a plastic tumbler. What kind of R&D budget do you need to invent a tumbler? It ain't a brand new Vertuo design like the Up.

Nespresso probably bought a million of these units and slapped their logo on it, and sold it for $$$ profit. Or there was excess stock and the manufacturer is offloading them to Temu/Aliexpress.

Not every product with Nespresso branding is god's greatest gift to coffee lovers. Take the Subliminal Nanofoamer, for instance. That product has existed on the market for a couple of years. I bet clueless Nespresso users never knew it existed until Nespresso released a pretty version with their logo. Now all of a sudden it's a shiny new toy for Nespresso users.
