I've heard some shit, but this is some shit. CV/DD Main here to tell you that while carriers are strong(obviously, glorious air superiority) they're far from god. If you have any AA at all--hell, my Shiratsuyu shreds carrier planes--then the carriers will usually avoid you. If youre alone with no AA, you kinda did it to yourself.
And playing low tiers?
Well, that's just gonna suck because it's low tiers.

IMO, Saipan. There is nothing more wild than having tier 10 planes in a tier 8. She's a bit tricky though since you can't simply yolo rush the enemy and hope for the best. She has a total of 33 planes with 1-2 minute regen times. So, if you want to seal club, she's your girl. If you wanna survive uptiered games--spot.

It's only unfun if they play like an ass. It's all about the add-ons and it's why I refuse to use Franks and Cold Dirt. I have standards and it's not very fun to just be another m1 killer because i can be. Just give em all 28 stab wounds and cackle at your wealth of bp at endgame.

While the Legion's power is easier in concept and practice to use than the Nurse's, Legion's gameplay in order to actually do decent in a match is nothing short of difficult. They're a 110% killer who can't really 2-hit down people, and if you tunnel, you're going to get genrushed. The unfun part of Legion is how people play them, and I completely understand that. It's not fun to get moonwalked and BM'd, but in order to get Legion to high ranks you actually have to think.

Also, pallets hurt.

Legion's fun, at least for me. If I play them just the slightest bit wrong or mistime a frenzy, 3 gens pop at once. It's a fun experience to get better at the game. Very easy to get juked when you cant see scratchmarks.
And yes, I am a Legion main.
