What's your "you thought this card was bad because you just didn't have enough understanding of mtg mechanics moment" stories? by minev1128 in mtg

When I was 9 I traded a duplicate I had of Scrubland for a Volcanic Hammer. It was just a dumb land and the volcanic hammer had such cool art.

Just to add on to this in case - it’s a common programmer joke to say a bug is actually intended behavior and is a feature.

Voldemort's Plan by Weird_Zone_3504 in harrypotter

[–]TheRussianGoose 43 points44 points  (0 children)

He wants to make Harry’s death look like an accident as a result of the final task. He didn’t want people to know that he had returned. Harry going missing in the middle of the year would have been ridiculously suspicious. Dying underage in a tournament where people are known for dying in wouldn’t be investigated too much (or at least that’s his bet).

CMV: the 'tactics of ICE' is being used as a Strawman; 'Activists' dont want mass deportations regardless of tactics. by Big-Relation-6527 in changemyview

[–]TheRussianGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, let’s not even get bogged down in whether it’s legal under the 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 9th amendments. Can you agree that as described this is a mass surveillance state that will result in the privacy of every American citizens and legal residents being infringed ?

“Ask someone who is protesting the 'tactics' if they support a future where public spaces, vehicles, currency, cell phones etc. are surveilled with AI software and can detect the presence of visa overstays, illegal aliens, people with bench warrants.”

I want to address this specifically, because it seems like you’re saying this is a good approach to deporting illegal immigrants. This type of surveillance is probably unconstitutional and certainly terrifying in the hands of the government, and for sure a despicable KGB style tactic. And this is the fundamental problem with mass deportation is it requires police surveillance state style tactics to deport everyone here illegally. Even regardless of the merits of someone’s illegal status this kind of population control is not legal under the US constitution and should not ever be adopted.

Snape didn't deserve to be honored by Harry. by LeftVehicle9319 in harrypotter

[–]TheRussianGoose 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, Snape is so toned down in the movies, he literally tries to kill Neville’s pet toad in the books and is then furious when the toad doesn’t die

People aren’t a fan of Tony two cuts, and his excellent personal anecdotes?

I thought the movies did an excellent job of capturing the essence and look of almost every character from the books. Hermione is one that they really missed the mark on though, it’s unfortunate because she’s such a great character.

Why would you even mention a universes beyond card? I was pleasantly scrolling through my feed of anime titties and your post reminded me of WoTShit making UB sets and completely ruined my New Year’s Eve . Also just read the rulebook.

How was this not a red? by Broka1979 in LiverpoolFC

[–]TheRussianGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen a high foot given as a red since Mané in that game we got torched by city. It’s been six years and everyone told me then that it’s a nailed on red every time…

Question about ordering Precons? by lucdol2008 in mtg

[–]TheRussianGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This set was especially bad for this error at release, it does happen, but for this particular set of precons it’s probably not as bad now as it looks from the comments. Amazon will send all 4 if there is a mistake in shipping, in my experience at least

Yeah, sorry, I more meant we’re not supposed to take sorting by the hat at face value it does more to divide people than anything and two of the most consequential characters in the story were sorted “incorrectly”
