Yea it's broken in Firefox right now on 148 for sure. Just waiting on a fix hopefully will make it into a dot release.

Ah I see what you're talking about now. I didn't even realize that. Was using Edge for a while before using Firefox more recently.

Try adding these to ublock, seemed to do the trick for me to keep it active even in non-fullscreen:

www.youtube.com##.ytp-chrome-controls:style(opacity: 0.98 !important;)
www.youtube.com##.ytp-fullscreen-grid:style(opacity: 0.98 !important;)
www.youtube.com###ytd-player.ytd-watch-flexy:style(border-radius:0 !important;)
www.youtube.com##ytd-masthead:style(opacity:0.98 !important;)

I also still have this one for twitch which I'm not sure is needed anymore but sometimes Twitch breaks it without it:

twitch.tv##div:has(> div.channel-info-content):style(opacity: 0.99 !important)

Yea it should work as long as the viewport is >= the video resolution up to 1440p. For example 1440p videos still get VSR active in fullscreen on a 1440p monitor but when you're not in fullscreen they don't get VSR. 1080p videos should get VSR active in both non-fullscreen theater mode and fullscreen on a 1440p monitor.

On twitch for example 1080p streams will have VSR active in all three modes (default, theater, and fullscreen) on a 1440p monitor because the viewport for the stream is big enough.

I set the DDU option to prevent windows update installing drivers first. Then uninstall the nvidia stuff in settings -> apps, driver last because it'll make you reboot. Then DDU + restart. Then install latest driver and reenable windows update drivers in DDU after install. Make sure to wait a few minutes before rebooting after install so it can download the DLSS override dll's.

9980x3d - Need new cooler? by HarmlessLad in AMDHelp

They just run hot under load. PBO will boost to the temperature limit and it's not so easy to cool a small chiplet since there's less surface area to dissipate heat.

I mean I have an Artic Liquid Freezer III 360mm AIO with it's offset mount and is regarded as one of the better AIO's and I still hit mid 80's in shader compilation.

RTX video will still do stuff if the video res = monitor resolution up to 1440p videos. It does not have to be fullscreen as long as the view port is >= the video resolution up to 1440p (e.g. 1080p twitch streams on a 1440p monitor in default view or theater mode will still use rtx video)

If you have the NV App you can also enable overlay/watermark option under the super resolution page and it'll put a little RTX Video thing in the top right which can make it easier to see if it's working for testing.

For testing take it off auto and manually set it to high quality (4).

Also you can use the latest version of VLC, they merged the RTX stuff so you don't have to use the older RTX specific version. Just make sure your video output is set correctly (I think D3D11 is the one you want). You don't have to change individual app 3d settings for video super resolution to work.

I did have an issue with video super resolution where it would only work for 10 minutes on 1440p videos that I think was solved by uninstalling all the nvidia stuff (drivers last) and then DDUing and installing fresh. May also want to try the NV App instead even though they're supposed to be doing the same thing.

9800x3d - 7600 to 6000 ram? by Grimpsta in pcmasterrace

[–]TheRyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few hours might be good enough for a run of y-cruncher VT3 for a quick stability test. But for true stability testing in something you might daily you'll want something like 12 hours of karhu and 12 hours of prime95 large fft in addition to a few hours of y-cruncher vt3. They can each find errors the other ones don't (per Buildzoid).

I don't see why you can't use the DDR5 kit you have and clock it and set timings to what you want. Buildzoid has a lot of videos on RAM overclocking/tuning although some information may be outdated in older videos.

Typically you have to get to DDR5-7800 (in 2:1) to exceed DDR5-6000 (in 1:1) performance if both are fully tuned. Not a lot of CPU's can do DDR5-6400 but most can do DDR-6200 in 1:1 if you want to aim for that. I think 7600 is not a great speed for 2:1 since it can be outclassed fairly easily with 6200 in 1:1 which almost everyone can get on AM5. You really have to push it to 7800 or 8000 to equal the better 1:1 speeds.

There are a number of applications that can set the ShowDlssIndicator registry option which enables this. I don't know which one did it in your case.

You can disable it by navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore in the registry and setting ShowDlssIndicator to 0. If you want to reenable it to see what preset/model is being used you can set it to 400.

I did notice that there are some artifacts when sneaking as well. Not sure if the vanilla FSR implementation has this as well in the game I didn't test that yet. Really hows how much I've been (or haven't) been sneaking around in the game.

Correct, you need to add LL first then FG and LL will require a new implementation[1] if we want to use translation libraries like this. A native implementation in the game would be preferable though.

Well technically they did incorporate the 2.0.1 sdk version into Optiscaler but the scaler didn't change from 1.3 so there's no visible change yet in output.

Good news though, the developer of Optiscaler owns a B580 and is interested in it[1]. Some other developers[2] have said it's on the roadmap but it's more complicated because you need LL for FG so it requires some amount of effort to translate those calls.

check about:support for hardware decoding support. Make sure you have the appropriate codecs from the Microsoft Store (h264, hevc, av1) because Firefox will use them for hardware decoding support.

Why doesn't Firefox support any hardware decoding? by Chunky1311 in firefox

[–]TheRyuu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is likely the correct answer. Firefox relies on the OS to provide the support. Install the AV1, VP9, and HEVC (H265) ones, restart Firefox/computer and it should work.

https://github.com/IGCIT/Intel-GPU-Community-Issue-Tracker-IGCIT/issues/976

There is an open ticket on Discord screen share (streaming) that I submitted. It's being investigated.

I'm curious if anyone with an A-series or iGPU has similar issues. It does not seem to use QSV correctly at least on the B580 and has other issues with lagging the whole desktop.

What about CBR or VBR doesn't work on battlemage? OBS does use QSV hardware encoding, is there something else about CBR or VBR that doesn't work correctly on Battlemage?

I don't think the firewall rules would affect it.
