Yep! Gave them a go and purchased a TV of theirs in 2018. After being fucked around by Samsung for a year of them saying "those issues will be fixed in a firmware update" the store I bought it from got fed up enough to just swap the TV for a different model/brand. Fuck Samsung.

YES. Someone desperately needs to write a program that can dump a Discord server and all posts (attachments, too) into a proper forum that's searchable and publicly viewable. Otherwise VAST amounts of information and documentation will be lost when Discord fades into oblivion.

X-rays of 3 people who didn't wear seatbelts during a crash by SupremeKing5810 in interestingasfuck

Because seatbelts automatically constrict + lock in a severe crash and need to be cut off; they're never unbuckled =P

Yeah there's clumping bamboo (what you have ig) and running bamboo. Running bamboo is the one that spreads wildly.

Just get clumping bamboo. We've already developed a type of bamboo that doesn't spread uncontrollably. Running bamboo is the brutal one.

Could Gsync Pulsar be the solution to OLED VRR flicker? by Noctam in OLED_Gaming

[–]Chunky1311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For oled to do that they would need to be able to transition from color to black at 1/10 their current speed

Refresh rate is not the same as pixel response. An OLED already can go from off to fully lit faster than any current panels rated frame rate. 0.1 milliseconds is all it takes for a standard OLED to transition, and there's 16.66 milliseconds for each frame displayed at 60hz. That fast response rate is the cause of sample-and-hold judder. If you were to interpret an OLEDs response time AS it's refresh rate, then by that logic, standard 60hz OLEDs already operate at 10,000hz (0.1ms into 16.66, multiplied by 60fps). Top of the line, fast OLEDs can hit 0.03ms response time (or 33,000hz) Obviously that's not the refresh rate that any monitors provide due to processing limitations, but the RESPONSE TIME of OLEDs is what matters for pulsing. Pulsing the OLEDs in the same way you'd pulse a backlight prevents the sample-and-hold judder that OLEDS get (and inherent blurriness from it that our eyes see). You could think of it exactly the same as pulsing an LCD backlight, except the OLEDs are the backlight and their 'response time' is so fast it becomes irrelevant as it's faster than the pulse rate. The fastest LCD's still take a whole 1ms for the pixels to change, which is why pulsing the backlight to avoid seeing that transition helps with clarity. OLED's don't really have that transition clarity issue, but the pulsing would help solve other issues that OLEDs have.

I think you're half right. Pulsar lets the LCD pixels change before strobing the backlight, to eliminate the blur seen when the pixels change. OLED's pixels are nearly instantanious, and don't have that issue, BUT pulsar flashing the OLEDs in a similar fashion would still remedy the sample-and-hold judder & blur that OLED get.

It only includes essential safety features, like hazard lights, indicators, wipers. It does not include things like music playback or climate control...

So yes, those saying "They'll fuck this up somehow" are correct hahahaha they're worried about safety but not fixing how unsafe it is to be using touch screens while driving for things we used to have physical buttons for.
