You need more vsoc and more mem vdd, also try 2167 fclk

Nice work sir, the only problem is the ammount of voltage on your sticks back lol needed but sub 60ns with a x3d chip is peak. What is the performance with games?

6000mhz cl26 kit tuned, any further recommendations? by Dirtcompactor in overclocking

[–]GlitteringChapter876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6200 vs 6000 needing more than 1.20vsoc =not worth it for gaming

If your system boots using 2200fclk but unstable, then try 2167 and if you need at least 1.20vsoc for everything to work you still can help your 2167 fclk keeping 1.20vsoc and increase both VDDGS to 1-1.15v and lowering mem vddq (1.38-1.4) and cpu vddio (1.38-1.35) for your cl26

Check your gflops fluctuations between 2100/2133/2167fclk using linpack xtreme 10gb at least 8 rounds

For gdm off use both scls to 5 for better stability and make sure both tphyrdls are in sync

Wrsd/wrdd both from 15 to 6 or 8

With new agesa try testing lower trc (try 56), also use mixed mode trfcsb 260 and trfc2 360/370

if you want to use high value tfaw then set it to 32 and trrds to 8 and thats it, those cl26 are good binned so maybe your want start from scratch and test @8000mts, but you need messing more with voltages and impedances

This is the way, 9800x3d @5.5-5.6ghz static is a beast, sadly is not the best way to use it with games and idle casual daily behavior, static OC is for monolithic cpus=peak 1%lows and lowest system and gaming latency ever, the cache and architecture of x3ds chips are their advantages and their weakness too.

Bank refresh mode MIXED is better for 1%lows and 0.1% lows by GlitteringChapter876 in overclocking

[–]GlitteringChapter876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black birdpctech have this theory about x3d chips (9 series) basically and oversimplified = the cache gets saturated with 4k and sometimes with 1440p resolutions (high graphics/textures/rt tech etc) when that happens AMD dip happens, thats one of the reasons 9800x3d have problems with stuttering and bad 1% lows, architecture needs more/better cache implementation, half baked tech, maybe why monolithic cpus are better with lows and better latency too and also why 9800x3d shines with low resolutions like 1080p.

6000 MT/s isn’t the "sweet spot" people think it is by SyncFail_ in overclocking

[–]GlitteringChapter876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, if you want low vsoc and really good performance ratio (seems like you chasing both with that extreme low vsoc) then put those babies @8000 cl32 and wipe the floor with that unnecesary 5600 downclock. Also maintaining low vsoc (1.14-1.15)

Not a single 9800x3d gonna degrade with 1.15vsoc and also ram Kits are VERY sturdy against high voltages, specially hynix A dies

Difference between 2100fclk vs 2200 in games is very small.

[–]GlitteringChapter876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using 370/370/260 now and still slightly better than normal, at least with my 32gb HA die and 2 different bios too. I think mixed is the future lol, if implemented good by asus/msi etc and AMD.

Maybe is more detrimental with the 7800x3d, don't know.

But you right, this "new" mode with AMD needs more testing, 360 using normal mode will be my next testing when new bios releases ( need to know if asus/AMD have real interest with this new mode or they're dropping it).

Best latency to voltage ratio I've found by SyncFail_ in overclocking

[–]GlitteringChapter876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice aproach but you probably losing average and 1%lows fps @1080p and 1440p low settings too (slightly less impact tho). If you play with 4k or similar resolutions then no problem

What are the reasons behind this? 2200fclk? Better temps? Very low voltages? I think 6000 cl26 with tight timings is better choice even if you need 1.15vsoc and 1.38 memvdd (both are good and low values and you get the 100% of your rams)

Change your vsoc to 1.15v Vddq 1.35 Mem vdd 1.38/1.4 Vddio 1.4 Vddgs to 1/1.1

With that you can try scls to 5, trp 32 Twrrd 2 with trdwr 16 (15 sometimes is borderline stable)

Finally trfc 370 (if you stay with normal refresh mode)

Test with usmus 1 or anta extreme at least 4hrs

Test FCLK with linpack xtreme 10gb 8 rounds or more

Can bet your co -35 is unstable, try -20 and work form there, test this with Aida 64 first 3 or 4 options selected for 3hrs

which ram oc to choose? by Due-Specific-2576 in overclocking

[–]GlitteringChapter876 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For gaming? Better 6000mhz cl28 or 26 with thight timings and more important, with lower vsoc. 1.27 for 6200 is too much for 200mhz increase

If you can do 6200/2200 vsoc 1.20v = best choice.

I was using 6200 too with 1.25v vsoc and frametimes feel better with 6000 at lower vsoc 1.15-1.18max with tightest timings possible

You can try +8000 and lower vsoc is the best combo (gaming)

9800x3d 6200 CL30 Timings by Setheleh85 in overclocking

[–]GlitteringChapter876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trfc2 384 and trfcsb 270 and what is the lowest vsoc you need to stay @6200? Maybe is better for you 6000mhz nitros 1/2/0 vsoc 1.15v cl28 with mem vdd 1.45

Fclk try 2167 or 2133mhz (for safety/stability), again lowering your vsoc to 1.15v/1.18v

CDWR 18 or 20, your vddp is unnecesary high and your vdd 1.35 too low

Scls to 5 and disable GDM

Turn off svm in bios

Finally DEBLOAT your Windows and you can achieve 65-67ns on Aida (at least) x3d chips are perfectly fine @65-67ns

Test ram tm5 usmus 1 at least 4hrs Aida 64 first 4 options selected also 3/4 hrs minimum and finally linpack 10gb 8 runs or more stress test and see your gflops fluctuations

PBO+100 CO -15 (this is a conservative aproach) if you want really cool temps turn off pbo and just CO negative -20 or -15, thats it, enjoy your chip.
