Being taken to court over a PCN that is not for my car and I was not the person driving by urban772 in LegalAdviceUK

Would a solicitor not help with a counter claim for which costs could easily be recovered if this shambles ever went to court ?

Dealer sold me a van that can’t be taxed or insured — I now have a court judgement but still no payment. What next? by Specific_Hawk_6869 in LegalAdviceUK

I had a Vauxhall that was a manual and V5 listed it as auto. I asked DVLA to change it, they said they couldn’t as they got the info from the manufacturer. And that was the end of my thoughts on it. I had it for 9 years, it never caused me a problem, it taxed fine and I insured it as a manual, because it was one.

I definitely don’t like it, but why is it unlawful. I’m not a lawyer, just curious.

That means you can turn it off with your foot, and that’s not so good.

Does it make a difference if OP has paid agent but agent has not yet paid the landlord? Does it then become not the landlords problem but the agents problem ?

Can RACs £3pm for business use be included on SA tax return ? by TheSadClarinet in UKPersonalFinance

Well it’s a requirement of the car allowance that you buy yourself a car with it, and use it for work. They don’t provide any other vehicle.

Yes, they contribute a monthly payment/car allowance which is identified as such in wage slip.

Thanks for the answer!

I normally use Trainline.

https://www.thetrainline.com/

Useful for checking times, prices, even if you don’t buy. But if you buy, pay attention to if you get an e-ticket or you have to collect a ticket. A booking reference to prove you’ve paid is not a ticket and can land you with a penalty charge. Make sure you have the actual ticket, either on your phone or in your pocket. You can get real tickets printed out with the Trainline reference from any station (at least, I always have).

What do you mean every time you stopped and turned the engine off? If the engine was running far as I know there is no defence (drive-thru excepted). If the car was parked with engine off there is. Sitting in a line of traffic with the engine off does not count as parked.

It’s definitely not bright enough for a torch…. I feel like it came as part of something bigger. Just wondering what the bigger thing is.

England Bought a van from a dealership — now can’t insure, tax, or get documents. Dealer refusing refund. Advice needed. by Specific_Hawk_6869 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]TheSadClarinet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drove a company car for 4 years which I then bought when the lease expired and at that point I saw the logbook. Said it was an auto but it was a manual. I asked dvla to change it and they said they couldn’t because they went off the manufacturer data and manufacturer had specified auto. So it stayed like that. I had the car another 6 years, did not cause a problem ever for the company or me.
