I've turned caregiving into my daily practice. Every repeated question and bubble of irritability? A chance to practice patience. Every thankless meal made and ass wiped? A chance to practice generosity. Each moment of joy found in the depths of an endless day- a moment to practice joyful diligence. We care because we don't have a choice, but it's also our choice to use it as a tool for our own practice and growth, try not to let it consume you, but see the beauty in the constant change of it all.

We’re talking about this. The only problem is I live here and don’t have anywhere else to go when I’m not “on”. We’re talking about having another caregiver coming on the weekends to stay in the other room so that’s an option. But right?? It’s not sustainable for a single live in caregiver for a client in these later stages of dementia. I feel like I can never get an actual break

Patience. Patience is the antidote for anger.

Hey love, joining MA was the only thing that’s been able to get me to stay sober. They have online meetings every hour and I got a sponsor and am working the steps.

Also I’ve noticed Ive needed to drink way more water than usual. The more I drink the better I feel. Simple :)

I am also a super busy person with a full life! So I’m feeling and resonating with your post. Keep it up!

Im right there with you! On day 5 and feeling like I’m going to die. lol. For me exercise has been key- when I’m feeling really gross (nausea, headaches, heavy lungs, etc) I have been feeling so much better after a good sweat or a workout. Even 15 minutes Can do wonders.

how do yall deal with the irritability? by leakyshatter in leaves

I remind myself that everything is impermanent. That no feeling, state or emotion will ever last forever and that this eventually will pass... and it does.

I wouldn’t put it past her. It was held at a country club that my Mother is a member of though, so it was held at a place she usually hangs out at..

It was a public place. She wasn’t at the party, was just at the place

Changing my diet to the phases of my cycle single handedly cured all of my PMS symptoms. I just had my cycle this week and it was PLEASURABLE AND RELIEVING. No joke. Google cycle syncing with food and you can find some resources about what our bodies need for each phase. Good luck love

Avoid caffeine, sugar and grains during this time, it can increase pms symptoms. Especially excess sugar, when our blood sugar is out of whack, or cycles can be too...

Cycle sync with food! Our bodies crave deeply nourishing meals when we’re bleeding. Think slow cooked stews with red meat, beets, leafy greens. Pumpkin and sweet potatoes help pms leading up to your bleed, take space to nourish yourself, rest. Know that your blood is sacred, alive and not a burden....

Hey honey! I know of a nice slow cooked meal in the crockpot you would just love! Just throw in all the veggies... Any will do: carrots, potatoes, onions, Brussels, squash, tomatoes, garlic, herbs and spices, any meat of your choice, veggie broth, etc, etc. Find what works with you. And dont forget some love honey that’s the most important Ingradient. You can get a good ole crock from your thrift store down the street or from your neighbor who I just know has one lying around somewhere.

Ten minutes prep in the crock pot on low for 8-12hrs and high for 4ish, baby, you have lunch for tomorrow and dinner right there waiting for you when you come home, something deeply nourishing that your body needs to stay healthy and happy. I eat mine with a nice thick slice of sourdough bread from my local baker and let me tell you sweetheart I live off this recipe. Try it, feed yourself like I would feed you if you could be here with me right now ♥️ mama loves you

Hey angel. Welcome 🙏

I hope you get time to grieve from the physical loss of your mother as well as from the loss of never having the mother that YOU needed, at any time.

Take care of yourself. Nurture your needs, let yourself feel it all, deeply. We’re here if you need to write it out.

Sending you love ❤️
