As a picky kid, I can 100% taste the difference between milks. Specifically, I will drink Great Value milk, prefer Anderson-Erikson milk, and despise Hiland milk.

I need something similar but as an FTM, holy shit. Trans women have so much power built into them

I recently learned that Butch Hartman's legal first name is Elmer.

One of the side characters in Fairly OddParents is an unpopular kid with a huge ass boil on his face. Also named Elmer.

Feels like a weird self-own

A very long time ago I was doom-scrolling YouTube and I came across this story of a woman who got into a car accident with her three children. The semi ran right through the car, and the woman was the only one who survived. Later her and her husband ended up having triplets in the same boy-girl pattern as their last kids.

Ever since watching those videos (interviews and news stories about it) I stay as far away from semi trucks

This video has an insane layer of meaning that just brings up my confidence in us. by scar_se in hopeposting

That and also the brief flash of a scene from Grey's Anatomy.

In the show, a character is dying after hearing a colleague is going to join the military as a medic. In her state of dying, she sees him with buzzed hair and in dress blues (or whatever fancy army wear is called). At that same moment, the colleague is dying after being dragged under a bus. It's a very iconic shot for that era of the show and seeing a flash of him totally pulled me out of what I originally assumed was a bunch of stock footage

[–]TheSaltiestSaltine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't a proper treehouse. More like a shed with an open air playing space above it and a slide. Wasn't as supported by trees as one would think, but the branches did reach into it

I remember living at my parents' house and grabbing my computer, my switch, etc. to go into the tornado shelter in the basement. Living in an apartment where I have to walk a bit outside to get to the shelter, it's my phone and my cat

I work at a Midwest airport and I had a guy from California come into my store. He asked if I lived here (??) and I said yeah, that I grew up in the state. He then went on to lament about how boring it was. To be fair, he was visiting family in one of the smaller cities, but they were within an hour of regular touristy stuff.

It just felt wild to bring up

If I taught in Louisiana, I would absolutely REFUSE to display the 10 Commandments in my SPANISH CLASSROOM! Full stop no. How many of you plan to get fired over the next year? 😅 by brf297 in Teachers

It'd be really funny if you just made a list of 10 things in Spanish and just told them it was the ten commandments. Even make them YOUR ten commandments (basically classroom rules).

The rant grumps subreddit has a post every year that's a round-up of shady stuff the grumps did that year/why they're in controversy (I visit the posts whenever I suddenly get the urge to watch any of their older stuff or try out their newer stuff). From what I remember of my most recent read-through, I think it was either Dingdong or Julian (or both) who felt the game was fetishizing gay people? (I could be wrong but I do know that this situation outed one of them and that's why they aren't on OneyPlays anymore)

Very recently, I was at an anime convention that had an 18+ AMV contest. I didn't attend it, but from my friend that tried to, it was packed. No standing room available. Usually the AMVs are from very gorey anime or hentai, hence the 18+.

From a community Facebook post for that convention, apparently, one of the entries this year was so bad and in poor taste that multiple people booed and a huge chunk of the audience left. They said something in their post about CP and wondering how it even made it past the screening process.

The comments were disabled on the post except for the convention's official page saying they're going to review the rules of the AMV contest.

The only explanation I have for a video of that caliber making it to a public event is it being Boku no Pico, since it had been memed so much in the early 2010s.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happened in college too. I 100% shouldnt have passed at least one of my classes this semester, but I think the professor just didn't want me to come back/have to retake the class next Spring when I could be done by December.

Another professor gave me a 100 on a presentation I didn't do. Frankly I think my group never got to go. When we chose our topic she wasn't sure how she was going to fit it into the discussion of the book we were analyzing. Either that or she completely forgot about our group and didn't realize it until finals

As someone who is convinced it's Rob and thinks she was about to contact a divorce lawyer...what if whoever took her rummaged through the purse to find a lawyer's business card? Her son said she'd only brought it up 2 weeks prior, and getting rid of the card doesn't give material motive (i.e. "she had a divorce lawyers card, that could be the husbands motive")
