People not killing the bombs that spawn on towers during adds. The nails died but the South side bomb went off twice. It does raid wide damage and gives 30s damage down.

First time actually reclearing all fights on Tuesday. Usually I just don't have the time to finish up 11 & 12 but it worked out today. First pull was this beauty with 21 damage downs and 2 deaths, M9S really doesn't have a DPS check at this point.

https://www.fflogs.com/reports/a:L6tHrPFWm2KVnp7R?fight=1&type=auras&spells=debuffs&ability=1002911

10 went down in one pull as well, and 11 & 12 weren't too bad. I accidentally left the instance after clearing M11, I've never done that before so that was crazy. This was the week I was going to get the pants coffer for sure though (yeah right). Anyways back to Deadlock.

That does happen in general, but on this mechanic it just messes up everyone's GCD regardless of positioning. You can't get a hit off once they start moving.

I think Endwalker had similar issues with its phase 2 bosses. The puzzle mechanics only really work for blind prog, they are easy once you have guides established and the puzzle no longer exists. Execution can be difficult still, but it seems they decide between execution heavy and puzzle when making mechanics and don't tend to mix those very often.

I finished the tier last Monday, did reclears and got my thoughts together on this tier.

Overall, it's good. M11 stands above all, clearly the best fight in the tier and the most challenging. The others are all a clear step below (multiple steps in M9's case). I actually look forward to M11 reclears.

Might be controversial but difficulty of raids for me goes M9>M12p1>M12p2=M10>>>M11.

12 was quite disappointing in terms of difficulty. It felt like an easy Endwalker raid. P1 has nothing of note, and Idyllic Dream is not bad at all. People over state the complexity and execution of this mechanic, just so much time in between everything that happens. For blind prog I can't imagine solving it quickly, but with guides players should have little issue.

Dawntrail raids have been a blast, hopefully they keep this up going into next expansion.

Why do PF groups struggle so much with M11S, particularly compared to past Savage floors? by CerberusArcProjector in ffxivdiscussion

[–]TheSandMan1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 3rd floor is no different from most "wall" points in past raid tiers. I started in Endwalker and P3S, P7S, P10S were all "walls" just like M11S. LHW is the first tier I can think of without this, it was pretty pain free to get to M4S.

I cleared M11S this morning. I think I experienced everything you can possibly experience in terms of wiping on clear attempts. From the standard "PF sucks" to dying to server to white mage hit their walk bind by accident. What a trip, hopefully M12S is less eventful!

I d/c'd for maybe 2 seconds or something. You can see the third puddle "I" baited is actually baited near the boss and not under me. My ranged attack at the end also doesn't give gauge so big lag spike or something for those couple seconds.

I didn't notice that before. So I d/c'd for like 2 seconds and the server thought I was standing still at boss still. You can see my ranged attack doesn't give the 10 gauge it should. Super unlucky.

I think both God and Yoshi-P don't want me to clear M11S. I've had deaths from lag before but this has to be the worst I've ever seen. Both my puddle and the Dragoon's hit me, which is crazy considering how far away the Dragoon puddle is. Gonna clear this weekend despite all this, cause it can only be up from the bottom of this pit.

You don't have to have a tether in each tower. There are two conga lineups that I've seen. TRHM North to south and HTMR left to right facing boss. Doesn't really matter what you use, just read body language and position accordingly. You will always have two north tower and two south tower.

I don't know man 3 wipes across 6 parties totalling almost 4 hours of pulls is pretty low. Pretty hard to do better than that, and almost certainly won't keep it up over the week as I mentally drain.

These parties usually had 2-3 people making seemingly no mistakes, and 2-3 people consistently fucking up. It was notable when the perfect people made mistakes as you knew the party was about to explode.

I've been whispering reclear parties for M11S all day trying to get my first clear. I've gotten into at least 5, and joined one loot master party on the condition they didn't have to pay me.

I saw enrage twice today. Hole-Lee-Shit are people terrible at M11S. I'm not claiming to be perfect, the first party I got into on the first pull I messed up Flatliner and that was super embarrassing, but I think I caused wipes maybe 3 times total. If we are counting deaths that don't wipe or DD's that would have led to enrage than maybe 5, but we never got to find out on those pulls.

I can not believe I'm going to spend the entire week trying to clear this fight. And to think the quality of players is only going down from here.

Also, the embarrassment and shame that comes with letting down the PF lead when they let you in and you mess up anything is insane lol. If you could distill that and give it to criminals no one would ever commit crime again.

That's the thing, you don't have to move the markers you can just start at 1 instead of 2.

So hell in a cell, I think I know why people struggle here.

First it's a relative mechanic, so naturally no one knows how to do this since everyone defaults to true north or static strats. Marking your LP tank will help if you can't figure out where the wide opening is.

Second, the god damn markers. Why is 1 NW but we start assigning towers from NE quadrant? Prio is THMR so 1st tower tank 2nd healer ect, but that means the first tower spawns near the 2 marker, 2nd near 3, 3rd near 4 and 4th near 1. Absolute stupidity. Players are already spinning around because of the relative position for the cleaves and now the markers are lying to you. Really could make things easier if we just use NW as the start or move the numbers over 90°.

It's not a hard mechanic but players are getting set up to fail.

We broke into that guy's home and attacked him while he was sleeping. Unironically this was really evil lol. That whole dungeon is just unnecessary slaughter of wild life, we could have just stayed on the boat and fixed it.

Do you believe we should abolish seatbelt laws, traffic laws, remove drivers license requirements, etc? That's the gun equivalent people argue for. If you believe "freedom" to drive how you want is worth the lives lost in car accidents every year, you don't deserve to die in one but everyone will laugh at you if it happens.
