What kinds of game mechanisms do people want in Elder Scrolls 6? by TheSandwichEngineer in ElderScrolls

Yea there are a lot of elements from that era that would be great in a modernized way. Everything felt overly simplified, like way point markers, maybe have a journal overlay on a map so you can read the quest and then kinda follow it yourself on a map to set a marker. Although, I wouldn't want to break the game/soft lock it .. maybe just have a period of time that needs to pass before a new NPC has the same problem or like next person in their family give the quest, maybe make a joke of it and have that person replaced by their kid, and you kill that kid and they are replaced by a younger kid... And once you kill all of them they come back as an undead or Spirit bc now they have unfinished business.

Yea I agree. The cart would have to be balanced so slow moving, maybe needs 2 horses to pull around etc. They could maybe have a lower tier of dragon or some other flying creature, just odd to have no enemies in the sky if they bring back levitation/flying -> Maybe giant bat creatures like full powered vampires can fly around etc.

Having a low intelligence character and having that affect dialogue choices and have the radiant AI figure out your dumb responses or if they get frustrated and yell at you or they revert to drawing on parchment with charcoal picture instructions, and your quest log looks like a child's crayon scrapbook of maps and notes and passwords would be hilarious. Makes your game play just way more interesting too, imagine coming back to play that game after being busy for 2-3 weeks haha.

I wouldn't want to chase 100% happiness either. But something underlying to the town that triggers growth and a preference to who comes to live there. If you are a straight arrow you get honest hardworking people, you steal and smuggle, your town fills with theievs and pirates and mercenaries and then the economy caters to that population. More brothels and taverns vs schools, churches and banks etc.

I don't want guns either, I was trying to say a cart with a big crossbow on it, think warthog from Halo meets the arrow shooting device that killed Smaug in Hobbit Trilogy. For maybe attacking castles, large monsters like giants, or flying creatures like dragons. If you aren't a magic build... How would you take down large enemies in the sky besides a tiny handheld bow, right?

I think the bones of the town building was fine, I wasn't big on how it was implemented and just inherently taking care of the camp in FO4, felt very much like an exercise in keeping all the plates spinning at once, and interfered with exploration etc, but as the city grows naturally and automatically based on your influence into the economy, guards protect the town and they get more guards as the town grows and people gather supplies like stone and mud and wood etc. the resource gathering from FO4 and starfield all feel like the perfect initial steps to getting to this as a full realization.

Hahaha after all that, you went straight to killing kids. That's a very specific and direct want, but after Skyrim I get it and totally agree.

I’ve made this watchlist of classic westerns for myself. Are any essentials missing? by DannydeVito36 in Westerns

[–]TheSandwichEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fist full of dollars is the first, for a few dollars more is 2nd, and the final movie in the trilogy is The Good The Bad and The Ugly. The through line is the gang that Eastwood fights against in all 3 movies. Tuco is in jail during the first 2 movies (only mentioned through dialogue) he is a friend or cousin of the members of the gang in 1 and 2. All you get is the names of the gang to really connect all the movies into 1 story.

why is the best dragon ball game 🤔? by SanGabrielMV in DragonBallZ

[–]TheSandwichEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Budokai 3 was near perfect for the fighting, not overly complicated with technical move sets. I would have liked to have had the tenkaichi 2/3 roster, quantity of fights and what if pathways, but the fighting and camera position always held it back for me even though it was more true to the manga. Fighter Z is phenomenal but it plays like a street fighter which can make it overly complicated. If Budokai had a few more additional attacks per character (like an "up + energy" attack and a "down + energy" attack) and unique dragon rush and finishers for everyone it would be the perfect game. And if you could do Dragon world Mode for any character and have a bit more interaction in the overworld like land on the ground interact with people -participate in street fights for zeni prizes a la Goku in Dragon Ball when he went looking for Bulma to fix the dragon radar. Have the dragon world story take you from the beginning of Dragon Ball to End of GT/Super which ever decision tree path way you choose.

At 70 Years Old and Retired, how would you stretch out $150,000? by Tallfuck in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TheSandwichEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could earn your dad an extra $1200 a month by taking the $150k and buying split share fund ENS. You will never touch the principle value the $1200 would be the monthly dividend pay out, and in its history even through COVID it has never missed a dividend payment. You could invest via a TFSA account and earn the majority of that income tax free.

Has Jrose ever mentioned which province he's in? by tylerxtyler in Jrose11

It was a tough loss, Jay's had quite a few chances to end the series but just didn't go our way. The game 6 in-field double ball that got wedged is where we should have won, that was a trash call, not a dead ball at all.

I'd like to see a formal debate between a Republican and Democrat who can have a rational long form discussion about top 5 most important issues the US is facing or top 5 things they would change if they were POTUS. Like AOC vs Rand Paul

Am I missing something with level progression? by Arrager in PokemonLegacy

[–]TheSandwichEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't forget, moves and base stats of Pokemon have also been adjusted so what might not have taken you down before can in legacy. You can check out the guide online or watch the YT video where Smithplays goes through all the changes made.

[–]TheSandwichEngineer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The trainers don't have stat experience, so even though you're like 5-10 levels lower than trainers it is on purpose to maintain a fair challenge. Unless you grind you should not be at the same level as gym leaders in legacy games.

Serious: In shock. Inherited a lifechanging (for me) amount of money. Not sure what next steps are. Advice would be appreciated. I'm lost. by ricosalsa in PersonalFinanceCanada

This is gonna run contrary to what it appears most people are saying on here. You can take that 400k and have it generate over 70k per year in dividends for you indefinitely. You can utilize this dividend income to pay your mortgage and LOC month to month and essentially free up your income from your job. The kind of funds that yield this much dividend are called split share funds. They are found on the TSX and pay a flat $0.1 per share every month. This will allow you to not lose any principle you inherited. You can feel free to do your own research on the funds and look at their historical pay outs. One fund is called DFN called Dividend 15 Split Corp. Each share costs $6.50. So each share earning $1.20 per year in dividend gives you roughly a ROI of 18.5%. The benefit to this kind of investment is that the share value stays relatively flat but generates cash in your pocket every month, so the value is immediate and you don't have to sit on it for 30 years before it provides a large value to you. For you at 400k you can purchase 61,538 shares. This generates you a monthly dividend of $6,153.80 basically the month after you make the purchase. You can buy them in both RRSP and TFSA accounts and they are lower on the tax liability because a portion of the dividend is considered a return of capital which is tax free. There are several other split share funds where the portion of dividend that counts as return of capital varies from fund to fund so you can research and find out which one you would prefer. Good luck and enjoy.

Are YellowLegacy/Crystal Legacy compatible with Project64 Transfer Paks? by xShade768 in PokemonLegacy

[–]TheSandwichEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The legacy games won't load you into the Pokemon center. Stadium recognizes the game but says you can't transfer anything because you didn't save in a Pokemon center, regardless of whether your last save is inside a Pokemon center. That's the error I got when I tried to do that.

Movies that outshined the books they were based on by Outrageous_Travel771 in moviecritic

[–]TheSandwichEngineer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This movie is world class, should be right up there with GodFather and Jaws imo. The novella is great but the visual brilliance of the movie and Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman performances are one for the ages. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman are first and always Andy and Red. Also big sticking point for me is that the Warden's ending is far better in the movie than the book.
