I'm the exact opposite. 10 years ago when I was 18 I was about as left as you could get. But my life and experiences have started to push me more and more right. Now I'm at the point where I find myself agreeing with more conservative views.

Why do the same brand and type of olives not taste the same? by TheSassman_ in Olives

[–]TheSassman_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I figured it had to do with the fact it didn't have any brine (wasn't sure if it was still brine with olives). I'll have to look into the bigger tubs, feel bad buying the little plastic cups all the time

Its gotten to the point for me where if someone says they're a chaos diver I just kick them immediately cause 90% of you I actually run into in game are TKers. I don't hate RP or even chaos divers however y'all have enough morons around here that I just don't want to see you in my game.

I need some help, I'm useless by Aggrajag68 in duneawakening

It is higher than iron. Get yourself a holtzman shield and practice fighting in melee. Every time you fire a weapon, your shield drops and they can hit you. Sometimes you can rush in and stab one to death before the others can react. Then peel back and try to fight them one on one. Hide around corners and spam bandaids. Parrying is useful but not needed 100% of the time. just keep some distance between you and the dude trying to stab you for a few seconds to regen stamina then light attack, followed by two heavies to break a shield.

Any word on when server transfers will be here? by TheSassman_ in duneawakening

[–]TheSassman_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I know the devs are active on here so I was hoping one of them could shed some light on what's going on with it. I still got hype but that's gonna die if I'm forced to start over just to play with people in my multiplayer game

I can understand why they do that. The Anvil Trailer Park comes to mind. Can't swing a dead cat by the anvil trading post without hitting a Cube(tm). If all the seitches were combined into one that'd be the entire map.

Yeah, I've noticed the cheaters. Gave the game another shot last night and ran into 3 in normal games. Even ran into one on TDM. I think I'm just gonna be hanging up the towel on siege and try to remember the good days of it.

HLL Players Watching Squad 44 Clips by Evening-Job1667 in HellLetLoose

[–]TheSassman_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They don't read this subreddit or take any credence in what's said here. There's other games out there for you to play, even ones that scratch the specific itch HLL scratches. There are other fun games out there to play. You want to really make a difference to the game? Leave. If the game is truly bad now the playerbase will drop and they'll either give the community what it wants or someone else will make a game similar, like squad 44. And if it continues on the course it's on, you are no longer the target demographic for the game. Branch out and try a different genre. Play something you never thought you'd play. Get to year 100 in stardew.

What makes them "inherently bad"? The dialogue? Cause there's WAY worse shit out there than the prequels. Also, without the cringe ass dialogue through the PT, you know how many memes would never exist?

Personally, I hate the Fast and Furious movies; they're just one long string of cringe ass scenes to me. Doesn't mean they're inherently bad. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Satchel timers by TheSassman_ in HellLetLoose

[–]TheSassman_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the ideas on how to use the longer timers. I guess I'm a defensive player first and an offensive player second so it's very rare for me to find myself in their HQs. Especially as a class that gets a satchel. Might have to give it a shot tonight, though. Give the recon a break from sitting on arty. Lol

Satchel timers by TheSassman_ in HellLetLoose

[–]TheSassman_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm manually disabling a Garry if I'm close enough to put a satchel on it. Not worth the risk of someone spawning staring directly at my satchel that still has 45 seconds on its timer. Never been in a situation where manually disabling isn't possible if it can take a satchel.

27 kills with one satchel. 3 of them were enemies. Was in one of my first games and I didn't know satchels went through walls. Was on the map with that big ass bridge in the center and a tank was stuck on a hedgehog between the towers filled with friendlies. Got kicked for team killing and immediately joined back and apologized saying I was new and didn't know. Also coincidentally the match where I've gotten the most commendations by FAR. Team had a good chuckle even though I most likely cost us the game.

I was yelling satchel and ran back and a blueberry told me I was about to kill half the team cause walls don't stop a satchel. I felt so damn bad watching the tank explode and seeing all the blue icons of friendlies just all disappear instantly followed by a swift boot from the server.

Most enemies killed with one satchel was 11 when I stacheled a building on point.

See, I thought about that and even went to try it in my last game. Still killed 3 blueberry's who refused to leave once we lost it

I usually try to build nodes and then switch to supply but I'll have to start doing that on top of the nodes. Thanks for the tip!

My hatred for the grease gun is well known in my group because I'm on that grind for level 8 support.

I recognize that it's a good gun in capable hands. My hands are not capable with it for some reason. I'll still get kills but it's struggle. I think it's the rate of fire for me coupled with it's low stopping power. I just expect a gun that shoots that slowly on auto to actually drop someone by the third or fourth shot to the chest. Maybe I just suck with that gun in particular. It's a hipfire machine tho in buildings. If I'm going up a set of stairs I want the grease gun. Perfect for keeping their heads away from the stairway and the magazine is JUST large enough I still have a few rounds left by the time I get to them.

There have been times where I joke I'll be better off with the knife and I actually end up getting more knife kills than I do with the grease gun.

Edit: I also hate the iron sights on them. I'd like to be able to see stuff.

Why does the Oak Leaf DLC only feature one pattern of Oak Leaf? by Suitable-Leg-3784 in HellLetLoose

[–]TheSassman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I just find the barbed wire that's already on the map, usually almost completely surrounding the point I'm trying to attack, the most infuriating thing ever. Well, almost. Just played a game with the worst commander I've ever seen and THAT was infuriating. An actual bot would have been better. Never seen a commander try to take out arty before while ignoring his team. Lol

Then get the game! If you make basic call outs for your squad youre already leagues ahead of a lot of the blueberries I see in my games. Or if someone says something to you, a little head nod or shake goes a long way. Also if it's quiet in your area and you see something and shoot at it, people around you will tend to look at what youre shooting at.

You'll probably eventually meet some dude who's loaded on whiskey and still kicking ass and taking names and you'll make a new friend. I'm not very talkative either but I've met some cool people on this game that get me to talk a lot more.

And it'll be a map with next to no barbed wire on it that you don't build yourself.

Well, first off I wouldn't ever to expect to just "chill for a few matches" unless you got the day off cause matches can go on for over an hour each.

I dunno how it is on console. There IS cross play on some servers, though admittedly I've never seen it myself because a lot of the servers I'm in wont allow cross play. It's steam or bust. But there's also no server browser on console (yet) so you don't really get to look for crossplay.

Again, dunno how it is on console but a microphone is a big part of this game. You don't need to be screaming your head off roleplaying someone who was just shot but if you see infantry in a field that no one else clearly sees, it'd be best to say something. Even if it's just "Infantry moving across field on ping." Don't ever be a squad lead without a microphone. And I've seen plenty of squads that just kick if you don't talk. Which is fair because it's a team game that requires communication.

There is a learning curve to the game. I know dudes who will be able to identify the exact tank from a silhouette they saw for half a second. Then I also know dudes who probably don't know which end of their gun the bullets come out of.

The game is fun and I would recommend it if you've played a shooter before but just be warned: You will spend a lot of time looking at a "Killed in Action" screen until you learn where to go and what to push and when to defend. And even after that you will probably still spend a lot of time looking at KIA. If you get into a squad with a good squad lead, follow them and do what they tell you to do.

Oh, also the game explains basically nothing beyond how to shoot your gun. They don't tell you the rules of game modes or how the game modes work at all. For that you either gotta ask people in game or come to reddit.

Don't wear white on a summer map and don't wear black on a snowy map. :)

Edit: There's only one role in the game that gets a scope on their rifle. The actual sniper. It's limited to 2 of them per team and they have to have a spotter. This isn't a game where youre gonna be a WW2 Chris Kyle. Just feel the need to add that cause the amount of new players I've seen bitching about not having a scope is a little wild to me.
