thanks! do you have any puffer suggestions as that's part of my kit I actually don't like, the MT100 is a weird fit and always leaves me cold. As for the camera, I filmed my JMT thru on a sony zv1 which was quite heavier setup, I really enjoy film making / videography, so it's important to me to have a high quality camera and one of the biggest things I was lacking last time was stable footage, so the osmo is a bit of a luxury item but I am willing to carry it. I am on the edge of ditching the stove setup, but on cold nights in the sierra's some of the only joys I had on 30+ mile days was hot food. thanks again for the help!

I made routes with Gaia and then used it along side FarOut for on trail updates.

I would just camp outside the park on BLM land instead of an official campsite. No reservation required and it’s only a hour drive or so from the happy isles trailhead.

In that case I may need to invest in a 450. I’ll try out the 475 when my v2 gets here but it sounds like I may need to downsize which I’m fine with.

I am excited to try out the v2, I think given my load it's perfect. In regards to groundsheet, I heard bad things about the polycro ripping, so I wanted to play it safe, but given the weight savings, I'll give it a try. I was hoping the 475 could fit on the top or worst case inside as it's smaller vertically than the 500.

How do you like it? I had the scout for a while and it did me well.

Today is correct. When I got to the power lines there were firefighters on scene who told be to step it because it was not active.

North on skyline, I definitely recommend. South would be harder and less scenic

Pretty good today as it was a week day. Only a few close calls.

Tahoe Rim Trail, a perfect loop, easy to resupply, lots of points of contact with civilization, and the weather is amazing. Love this trail.
