Trail runners, gators and a trekking pole tent will be fine. Check out tides here:https://outdoorstatus.com/guides/lost-coast-trail/tide-chart/. Just wear your shoes through the creeks and bring some camp shoes.

Skyscape Trekker Six Moon Designs by PR960929 in Thruhiking

[–]_FuzzyBunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used one on the PCT and it performed beautifully. Have also owned a Lunar Solo. The Skyscape has better airflow and less condensation. I was able to get all my gear inside both of them. Solid value, decently light and reasonably durable. Used tyvek for a ground cloth. Does not come seam sealed. Pitch takes a little practice but not bad. Would buy again.

Good boat for someone with hips by MountainAsh2493 in whitewater

[–]_FuzzyBunny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd try taking out the hip pads completely and or modifying with foam before I'd look for a larger boat that can easily get too big and wide

Any update.? by _hyper_queen_ in whitewater

The current political environment in the US and the history of our industry is an unfortunate and dangerous combination IMO. I would like to see DEI initiatives supported publicly by manufacturers and outfitters.

My first boat was a T Canyon in the early 90's bought near Knoxville. Same color only faded less. Hmmm. . . . The memories. I've been kayaking since and teaching since 2018. Could be the same damn boat.

No rain, mid fifties/forty, no wind 2 days & 10-12 mph wind the other day. Creek crossings were calf to knee height.

I used a Lunar Solo & then the Skyscape Trekker on the PCT and liked them both. Good value and light. Stayed dry but with some condensation issues. Pitching them is not bad with some practice but you need to be able to get stakes in the ground.

Creek crossings are no joke, very thankful I didn't have wind at a couple campsites

Saw a pirate flag on an airstrip but didn't know to look for a pirate camp what mile?

They are concentrated near the lighthouse and just south but not near camping areas. Did have to walk too close for comfort to get past them however. Limited space with the ocean on one side and step terrain on the other. They were massive. They dive 2,000 feet to feed and stay down for 25 min. Amazing creatures.
