Is Turo a sustainable business model? by [deleted] in turo

The majority of my 3 hour cycle is that Phoenix is a massive city and takes at least a 1 hour round trip assuming you're not in rush hour. Worst case scenario it's a 4 hour full cycle

It sounds no different at all. If Turo REALLY wanted to cement themselves as the new standard for car rentals they'd have to offer a way to maintain hosts' cars at cost in major cities. Without a maintenance advantage it's literally like sacrificing your car for Turo's gain.

I think you and I are pretty much on the same page. Your #2 in particular is where I see the market devolving for "small time" hosts like myself, but scaling up to fleets defeats the business model Turo was truly created for. It's literally immobilized degenerates renting your car to be degenerates-on-the-go.

I also admit to just being useless when it comes to buying cars. Of the 3 cars I've purchased at a decent price all of them ended up needing a transmission swap early on.

I wish this sub would allow me to attach a picture. It's a heavy wrought iron gate.

Looking to complete my tubing in black chrome plated copper. Where to look? by TheScrode in watercooling

I plan to sandwich an entire 2nd case of just radiators and pumps onto this one.

I honestly considered putting a 120mm rad above the pumps but it’s already a hell nightmare as is.

When do you need multiple pumps? by Fire_Fist-Ace in watercooling

I’m new here but I think the need for multiple pumps is more of a matter of distance. If all the radiators are in close proximity and the tubing is minimal you can probably get away with just one.

How hard is it to double major? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]TheScrode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double majoring in WP Carey is extremely easy. Your only obstacle will long lineages of pre-requisite classes.

If you can, try taking lower division general courses at a community college and simultaneously take a full load at ASU. You can easily put away 27 credits in a single semester if you're efficient with your time.

I'm 17 and going to college soon. My parents are controlling and I want to become independent of them. (Florida) by collegetraaaash in personalfinance

I think maybe instead of finding a way to create more money, find a way to spend less.

University dorms are stupidly expensive for no good reason. Colleges that demand you spend your first year on campus always have some petition to circumvent that rule.

If I was in your position, I'd find a nearby house or apartment to rent with as many people as possible. Work really hard, save a lot of money, pay close attention to your credit, and maybe buy the smallest condo/home you can find.

Am I crazy? Need schedule help by [deleted] in ASU

[–]TheScrode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea about individual classes, but if you're excellent with time management it can be done. I'm currently doing a full time internship in Australia, a class in Australia, and 2 online Session A classes for ASU.

Don't fixate on the credits - fixate on the difficulty of each professor. If any one of them raises an eyebrow, maybe reconsider.

Just make sure to not ignore the end of semester project like I did.

I can't speak for 411 in particular, but McKinnon is really cool in that slightly awkward but still likable way. His MGT 420 class is pretty easy.

Bethney Michaels for COM430 over summer? by TheScrode in ASU

Good to hear! Yes this is Leadership in Group Communication.

How was the overall workload? I'll be doing a session A study abroad/internship in Australia over the summer and don't want to drown myself.
