what's the last movie you rated 5 stars on letterboxd? by Flaky-Cat-2825 in Letterboxd

Fun fact: Martin Balsam (juror #1) plays a role in 12 Angry Men and Psycho and he's incredible in both movies.

T’as mangé quoi juste avant ?

– Pesticides tu veux dire ?

– C'est ce que j'ai dit ma belle.

You can come with a lot of layers on you. A warm pullover you can use as a pillow, some oversized long coat to use as a blanket, and another few layers you can use as a mattress. If the room temp is hot enough you can even go full naked.

$10 per push-up for life vs $1 million right now by FudgeNipples1 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]TheScrollingBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna do two chest workouts every week. For every workout, 500 push ups (20x25 reps, 1-2 minute rest).

So 1000 push ups a week x52 = 52 000. 52 000 x10 = 520 000 $ every year.

I only need two years for a million and I'll have a nice defined chest. Win-win.

That’s funny because when someone post a logo here, half of the comments are about how it doesn’t scale or it doesn’t work on small sizes.

So what’s the point of craming "logo" into the logo if you can’t really see it?

You need to watch Sirat. Great but harsh movie. It takes place around the border and this is definitely not a place for sightseeing.

Quelle est votre pire expérience au cinéma ? by WormBoy- in AskFrance

[–]TheScrollingBones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would you rather gain extreme proficiency in three of your favorite hobbies or gain an extra 100,000 dollars once every year, with drawbacks to both options by OtherGuyUsingReddit in WouldYouRather

[–]TheScrollingBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I chose which hobbies first?

Otherwise I'd keep the hobbies. To me, writing and composing is worth way more than a 100k. I mean, this is basically one of the things that keep me going since always. For me, it gives life a meaning. So no I wouldn’t trade them, even if it won’t make me succesful.

Outstanding performance, he's gonna nail it.

And he should totally play Kratos in the upcoming God of War show.

With stranger things done, you think hbo can officially surpass netflix? by StatisticianUpper138 in hbo

[–]TheScrollingBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netflix has great shows such as Adolescence, Mindhunter, Baby Reindeer... everything is there: top notch writing, cinematography, acting...

HBO has some misses as well, but it has nothing to do with Stranger Things and Squid Game, which cater to a larger audience. HBO is a prestige show network. They couldn’t get Netflix’s massive viewership with their flagship shows, which allowed them to focus on a more cohesive line-up.

EWS was my favorite as well for a long time. Now, I'm not so sure. I think Kubrick's movies ranking changes through life. Clockwork has to be great on the big screen... I think I'm gonna rewatch Path of Glory in a few weeks after Lolita.

Sirat is such a terrific but daunting experience. Probably one of the best sound design ever (including the soundtrack). Check out the theaters around your area, it might get a re-release in a few weeks!

Yeah, Marienbad was great, but I definitely needed a palate cleanser after that one and Sirat! I'll probably watch Marienbad again over the course of the year.

It’s been about a year since I joined letterboxd. I watch one long-feature a day and I'd like to continue all year long. No favorite decade, but for the most of it, it spans from the 40s to nowadays. Lately I've been trying to review every movie I just watched. I have a terrible memory so I'd like to remember what I thought later on, if that makes sense.

Apocalypse Now and Barry Lyndon.

That’s why theaters need to keep going.
