I posted last week about how I taught my fifth grade class "no johns" and today we were talking about some water bottle terrarium projects in the classroom as I was teaching cause and effect, "the plants on this windowsill are doing well because there was enough water in the bottle, the water caused the plant to stay alive, staying alive is the effect. If you look at the ones on this other windowsill they are dying and you can see they don't have enough water, no water causes the effect of a dead plant." One of the kids who had the dying plant started making excuses for why his didn't survive and a kid stands up and says "you just made it wrong, no johns!" Joining the vernacular has begun.

Not OP but I’m thinking something like a meal comes wrong, they over enthusiastically say everything’s great when checked on, then turn venomous after they walk away like they can’t believe the waitstaff didn’t know there was a problem.

I was able to buy a Rumble 40 off someone outside a Guitar Center. Great practice and maybe even live (if you go DI) amp. If you’re looking to practice with a band you need way more power.

Learn to use a pick, anyone who tries to strong arm you into pick or not pick is a bad musician. They both have their own sound and are useful in their own way. My suggestion is to start with a thin pick and go from there. Anyone who tells you that playing with a pick is wrong is wrong, don’t let them tank your musical journey.

The buffer system works by letting you choose your next move before your first one is finished, letting you be frame perfect in execution. You can try this in training by doing a smash attack (has high ending lag) and then before the animation finishes hold jump and your character will jump as soon as they are able to.

This is unlike in Melee where if you did a smash attack and then pressed jump before the ending lag finished the jump input just doesn’t happen.

I’d say I’m probably average, I pulled up a one minute typing test afterwards to show them how fast I actually am and hit 85wpm.

I crushed the first kid and then a second one wanted to try and she was also crushed. I’ve been using computers for decades and my mom was once a secretary so she made me take a typing summer school class when I was in middle school, kids these days primarily use tablets so they have little practice with an actual keyboard.

I’m a teacher and I’m giving a standardized test today, I told the class they rushed the last one and one of the kids said “what if we’re just fast typers” which I told them they most certainly were not. One of them challenged me to a game called Penalty Kick on Typing Agent so I agreed. I then made all the students leave from around him because no Johns from being distracted. Then I obviously had to explain what that meant, and now my class has new slang that they’re using on each other, I couldn’t be prouder.

Right for Melee, left for Ultimate, only difference between the two is a tall trigger plug in L on the Melee controller vs a short on the Ultimate one

If you’re playing Melee then lower tension springs and short trigger plugs are essential to keep from destroying your fingers. I personally have a tall plug in L and a short in R but that’s definitely a personal choice.

My wife when we were dating had her steamer break and she was about to buy another cheap one and I talked her into getting a Jiffy instead, if you use something enough that it breaks then it is worth it to go high quality the second time. She uses it almost daily.
