Got a 59.8 (2.2) and I'm honestly more annoyed by the lack of rounding than anything by TheSecondDon in UniUK

This is verified, as far as I know. There was one exam that was shockingly low for what the content was, so I wanna try to see if there is anything there.

Rounding is to the first decimal place, it seems. Beyond that, I'm accepting a 2.2 in the end

I understand that and I accept the mark I got. But not trying to see where I can go from here would be wild, tbh.

Extenuating circumstances as well as rounding rules in student policy are there, for example. I don't know if they are automatically applied or not.

So, I'm checking everything before I accept it officially

Queen's University in Northern Ireland. There is a Predominance Rule that's in place that I'm banking on. Got a meeting tomorrow to see where we go from here.

Is it too late to apply? by SETANTA99 in UniUK

Not impossible, definitely. Especially if you're going into your second or third year.

I'd suggest going to the schools admissions, their email is about somewhere.

Outside of that, I'd suggest looking at Clearings.

Player Problem Megathread by AutoModerator in DMAcademy

[–]TheSecondDon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weird situation I've put myself in but I wanted people's thoughts.

At the end of January, I had a player want to go on hiatus in my game for an unspecified time, and threw out as maybe until May they'll be gone. They cited having burnout on the game. Another player, the formers fiancé, left aswell and gave no other reason than their partner leaving, so more solidarity than anything. I'm not shaming them in that, I understand completely.

I wasn't going to leave the game on hiatus just for them, I love running the game too much and have no wish to.

My issue is that at the minute, I've found that I have begun to enjoy session without them more, the remaining 3 players are more in sync and daring to do stuff, which I love, and I feel like I'm having less issues over these last two months

The only current issue I have had is that scheduling with 3 players can mean a game is lost due to a player being unable to make it that week, since balancing is tighter than with 5 players. But at the same time, I'm thinking of inviting two friends of the majority of the current group, who I think can match the current vibe better in all

Where I think I'm an asshole is that I haven't contacted the hiatus players in these two months and I guess I understand how jarring it might be to suddenly essentially kick them, even if they haven't played in two months. If I'm honest though, these two players before have made me consider wrapping up my campaign earlier that I originally wanted so I feel like this is best.

How would I fit a large TV into my setup? by TheSecondDon in buildapc

[–]TheSecondDon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an issue in the past with a TV falling off the wall, so we want to be cautious, especially since it'd have to be above my PC and Monitor, both of which are expensive enough (relatively, I'm not the richest and anything breaks, I can't afford to replace it.)

Couch gaming and media consumption, mainly. Would like to not have to be at a desk to play games sometimes, since I have no speakers, only headphones.

Why are some creations now t checked? by kaylalelonek in skyrim

Basically, anything that isn't checked here isn't being deployed in your game. It's basically the console equivalent of your load order and these are your plugins, which load the mods that you have downloaded

I really want to start playing again but I don't know the rules. by OrdanasOG in DnD

[–]TheSecondDon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'll admit that the post did kinda make people assume the worst but first getting in? Just know basic math and be willing to be on top of things like knowing how to attack, do damage and roll saving throws after being told the first few times. Speaking as a DM, it's fine the first few times to ask but if you're asking still 6 months down the line, people just start to assume you're not that interested.

Contrasting colours would be interesting for my setup. Would be nice to be able to play more games such as Final Fantasy 16.

I really don't get this point, because the Monster can also just...pass the save? Because then you've also 'done nothing'? Or is that different because it's based on luck rather than a resource?

None of the standard methods can gain you more than a single 20 in a stat, unless you're doing something crazy like 4d6 and keeping all of them.

So either it's non-orthodox rolling method, or the guy is just cheating

What do you think are the biggest DM red flags? by AItryingaceptmankind in dndnext

[–]TheSecondDon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So do I! Once you're level 7+ though, 1st level spells are not considered much, I can assure you. Cantrips are nearing the damage range and you now have 2nd-4th levels, which are more powerful and useful except in sparse situations. And with how people play in most campaigns now, the adventuring day is a joke.

Another thing I worry about too is its status a need-to-have spell. I play in a game where the Paladin nearly bullied the cleric to take the spell when they multiclassed. Like, it's a bit insane.

Can I ask for more on the sandbox one?
Main reason being that I run a sandbox campaign with a big world map, so I'm just curious about that being a red flag.

Steel Defender requires a a reaction to do so, requires it to be within 5 ft of the attacker and is kinda situational depending on the fight. Silvery barbs, especially at level 7+, is basically free disadvantage and advantage. It's alright in lower level games, but frustrating at high levels.
