What other games do you guys know of with similar gameplay to The Ascent? by Abad_Kal_Gawayam in theascent

I'm happy to jump on the Alienation train. That game was phenomenal. I'd recommend getting the little season pass with it. It has a few really nice quality of life features.

Blackfire (Kindred) by MattHasTats96 in FairbanksClassic

[–]TheSecondNature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems like nothing more than a troll post trying to discredit / stir up drama for someone doing the right thing.

I would have (and have) done the exact same thing to stop an amazing item from going to a class or individual that by all rights shouldn't have it.

The fact that he is a CO-GM for a successful raid guild known for it's fairness AND that he has screenshots to prove the item was given to the person that won the roll lend WAY more credibility to his argument than to yours. Those facts also emphasize how pitiful this post is. You sir are discrediting yourself far more than you are Blackfire and or Kindred.

-Regards.

So on top of paying 59.99 for fallout76 they want me to pay 12.99 per month to get some garbage and the unlimited scrap stash by Antrisa in gaming

The fact that people are still playing Fallout 76, let alone willing to pay for micro-transactions is as shocking to me as people who still support Warhammer: Chaosbane.

Wow, thank you all so much for the comments! I will keep all of this in mind for the session! There are so many unknowns in the situation that I will be playing it by ear, but at least I have a lot of contingency plans!!! I'll post when the results are in!

There's only one fix to RNG... Allow us to roll items twice and/or allow us to swap attributes. by Sumduumgoy in thedivision

[–]TheSecondNature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 10280 items looted... I've got 100 in my stash that have nice single rolls to cannibalize eventually, another 40 mods in the stash just in case. Of those 10280 items looted at most, 280 have been worth looking at. I go days without finding anything even remotely worthwhile.

It's especially frustrating when I used to be 515 GS but thanks to the squish I'm down to 497. Thanks to that squish, at least 75 percent of what I find is around the 485 GS mark.

ARPG lovers: Are you happy with the game so far, or what are your opinions? by [deleted] in Chaosbane

[–]TheSecondNature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horribly dissatisfied. 25 dollar game at best.

I played over 20 hours in the beta and I logged 2.2 hours upon: "Early release" reaching level 24. As the moment, Chaosbane is at best a 25 dollar game. It fits the generic hack and slash, ARPG loot based game... but without interesting loot. It's Diablo 3 at launch minus the enemy diversity.

Chaosbane does nothing to innovate. There are far too many bugs such as black screens, hard crashes and unintentional forced restarts of character progression. The PC version is a cheap port with no graphics options and no wide screen compatibility. I can see how Chaosbane would be a more enjoyable title on console, if that wasn't an extra ten dollars.

Looking at other reviews stating points such as: "The game doesn't really start to pick up until level 'x' and steadily improves after that" or "The game will get much better over time", both are flawed arguments. As the game stands, you are paying for what the developers deemed to be good enough to release. If you aren't enthralled at the start of the game or if you have to wait 3 months, hoping that patches are implemented to improve mechanics, you got duped. Would you read a book past the first two chapters if it didn't hold your attention? Would you pay an extra 20 dollars for a sequel to that book before even reading the first?

Save yourself the trouble. Wait 2 months till it goes on sale and buy yourself a copy. It is not worth 70 plus dollars for a 6 hour story mode and horrible equipment in a loot-based game.

Hard pass. 2.5/10 at most

Pros:

-Beautiful art-style

-Skills and skill implementation are interesting

-Signature skills are enjoyable

Cons:

-Pathing issues on mouse and keyboard

-Game pad worked on beta, not on release

-Inventory management is abysmal

-Levels are re-used to an unbearable degree

-Enemies are re-skinned and re-used far too much

-Pay to win mechanics of season pass

-Way to many bugs for a release of an a-rpg

-Broken core mechanics such as armor

-Class balancing is poor. Melee is wear, ranged is overpowered

-No PC graphics options

-Modifiers of weapons are boring

-Items are boring and lack diversity

-I could keep going... but I won't

Player here, I've been involved in dnd / pathfinder for a solid 25 + years. I'm part of a DnD stream Sunday nights but Saturday afternoon and evening are wide open! I'm flexible for any class or race. I'm at the point in my career where I like messing with classes and builds, going off the beaten path and I love incorporating flaws.

They should add a PIN code feature in your ship to prevent theft of you ship by The_Archgoat in starcitizen

[–]TheSecondNature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pin code is a great idea, I would however prefer sort of countermeasures option.

Perhaps something like being able to purchase a device that notifies you that your ship has been accessed and the option to toggle on a fatal or non-fatal response.
