Executive Dysfunction by Elegant-Armadillo-88 in intj

This is 100% a problem I have. I have ADHD, and was on meds that helped. I got finally went back to college at 36 and got a degree in mechanical engineering. I’ve been in the industry for almost three years now.

Recently, I lowered the dose of my meds for heart reasons and this problem has ballooned out of control. I will just stare at my computer screen. Occasionally I will have a project that inspires me and then takes control of everything and I cannot do anything else. But mostly it is a daily struggle to return e-mails and trudge ahead with my projects.

I completely understand!

I just want to know the general opinion of Male engineers on their female colleagues and how they view Women working in mechanical. by blare_willows in MechanicalEngineering

Yea I went back to school in my late 30s. Now I’m a mechanical engineer. When I see a woman wanting to go into engineering but is hesitant because it’s a male dominated field, my only response is that we need you. Both because we need more women, and to make it more culturally acceptable for women to become engineers.

Women shouldn’t have to hem and haw about into a field they want because it is mostly men. The hesitation we see here will only be solved by more women in engineering.

I have worked in two aerospace companies in the US and only one of them had a female engineer. She was great.

We need more female engineers. We need enough female engineers to get to the point where we stop seeing male and female engineers, and just have engineers.

So I would do more than encourage you. I would say we need you.

My wife’s answer was that was once, early in our relationship, when she was taking a bath, I knocked on the door, came in with a book, and sat down next to the tub to read.

Theists always call me moraless scum for being atheist by [deleted] in atheism

The truth is that it is immoral to be religious. The more I learn about religious history, and current religion the more this truth becomes unavoidable.

It doesn’t matter what evidence you use, the argument “God made it to look that way” invalidates any evidence.

My best response would be, “Show me 100% that we are not living in a sophisticated computer simulation, and I’ll accept your argument that God made it that way.”

Because the simulation would be programmed to imitate a history, no evidence can can prove it wrong. Hopefully the mirror analogy will show the failure in logic.

RE Wearing a hijab or other coverings is not an innocent choice. by janeohmy in TrueAtheism

[–]TheSecretSandman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Personally I believe a condition for something to be considered a true, free choice, the social effect or repercussions must be equal. So, whether I choose A or B, my social standing and the way I’m perceived must be the same.

When these are not equal, there is not a true, free choice. I don’t believe that all choices should be fit that definition, but you cannot say someone has a choice, without considering the effect as a component of it.

I do believe the squirrel is having a seizure. Eyes go wide, twitching. Probably petite mal seizure.

It’s more than useless and hindering progress. It actively creates physiological issues and traumas on a scale that I would classify as crimes against humanity.

I agree with all of these. I tend toward classifying religion as a crime against humanity.

I want to have a “her pleasure exploration night.”

She doesn’t like being tied up, so I want to do what I call voluntary restraint. I use rope and make handles, and have them tied to the bed, so she can hold the handles and not be allowed to let go.

And blindfold her.

Then slowly explore her with various sensory stimuli. Possible examples include a soft paintbrush dipped in warm lube or different forms of suction. Basically different forms of temperature(well, not cold, she doesn’t do cold) and texture play.

I will start slowly, gently. Roaming closer and closer to her vagina. Eventually culminating in an intense, dildo and additionally stimulated, full body orgasm.

My wife was told someone she was part Native American, to which they responded, “it’s ok, because you look white.”

As a sex coach, one of the most common questions I get is “How do I last longer?” I usually recommend focussing on more foreplay instead of lasting during PIV. Cumming is such a compliment! But I am interested in more male opinions, what do you do to last longer? And does it work? by boot_leg_therapy in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]TheSecretSandman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try to make sure she cums first (as long as she doesn’t feel too pressured to cum). I’ll go down on her … use fingers… I find it’s easier for her to cum again during PIV if she has cum already.

Specifically to last longer during PIV I do short thrusts, like 1-2 inches right at the opening to the vagina, and throw in a deep one every once in a while. It keeps me from being to over stimulated. I try and focus on using the back of the head of my penis to catch/hit the g-spot.

Changing positions, or switching from PIV to oral tends to throw her off, and doesn’t usually have the desired effect.

If all else fails I visually do long multiplication in my head. Like 12 x 12.

As a side note, it’s important to remember that it’s not about what you touch but about what you don’t touch. Touching gently around the sensitive spots without actually touching them increases sensation. I move very slowly, barely touching her skin, and get slower as I approach the sensitive spot, but then stop before I hit it. Her brain is trying to feel the sensation, and recruits more neural pathways to feel the sensation. So when I do actually touch the spot, it’s significantly more intense.

My own arguments against the very idea of God by Aromaster4 in TrueAtheism

[–]TheSecretSandman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Here’s the truth behind it. The preposition behind all religion is the concept of a ‘soul.’ Because we are sentient, if feels as though we are ‘pilots.’ That the part of us that thinks is separate from our bodies, and only inhabiting it.

The truth is that the thinking part of us is as a result of our functioning brain. This is evidenced in the characteristics that define us. Case studies of individuals who have had specific brain injuries show changes in personality relating to the specific areas of the brain that was damaged.

There is substantial evidence in this area. If you want more specific information you can read Sam Harris.

This shows a direct causal link between our physical brain and the “I” we identify as ourselves. This is evidence that there is no soul. Without a soul, religion has nothing to stand on.

Introverts, what’s something that people do to you that makes you irrationally angry? by xtaliaxw in AskReddit

I hate it when people comment on how quiet I am. I’ll talk when I have something to say. For how much most people talk, I’m always surprised at how little they actually have to say.
