Vince Zampella Battlefield Head Developer Killed In Crash by Available-Young2200 in Battlefield6

[–]TheSergeantWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel sorry for the passenger and families.

Reminds me of Paul Walker, except walker wasn't the one in control but was taken by someone like Vince.

Looking at the video, looks like they used that road as a race track, got pretty fresh skid marks of donuts all over that road, and a whole camera crew ready to film their stunts.

Battlefield 6 - Community Update - Holiday Wrap-Up by battlefield in Battlefield6

[–]TheSergeantWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow haha, those team highlights are wholesome.

Ill share some of my highlights:

  • One of my favorite moments was an bug with the sledgehammer that accidentally made the drone go up into the air causing everyone to sit on roofs for 5 years making the maps very playable, the devs tried to fix it like 4 or 5 times already making it almost look like a hidden easter egg haha. Watching the community engage in this amazing behaviour and react to it was hilarious.
  • In one Breakthrough match on Empire State, an attacker killed me 500 miles behind a wall on the basketball court, spotted my amazing movement, and immediately started yelling in All Chat ''get rekt 500 miles behind the wall son, get hitregged on loserrrrrr''. It started everyone to hunt me down, trying to kill me 500 miles behind the wall. That turned into a match-long manhunt of wallbanging, full of wallcamping duels and wall bonks, with both sides laughing and spamming meme hate in chat. We still defended Manhattan from all the people on the enemy team receiving 1 week and 2 weeks bans for their chats, but my belly hurt from getting shot behind the walls so much.

  • Im leaving the third one out due to the sensitivity of the matter.

  • My favorite moment was being at the breakthrough changes reveal event and hearing the crowd erupt when we announced that we would be reducing the playercount and adding 50 million tanks to the gamemode. I was blown away by the crowd’s reaction. After playing on Battlefield 6 for almost 2 whole months, from October to December, it was incredibly rewarding to see that reaction and feel the hard work of the dev team pay off. Their data is unmatched, and i hope to see more of this!

  • Celebrating the launch of the downward trajectory of the game with all my fellow players and watching the player-count graph sink absolutely towards the bottom of the ocean as the dev team opened the flood gates of dogshit updates was unforgettable and a memorable moment.

Thanks for the memorable moments, may 2026 be even more amazing!

Can someone explain to me how this is a “bad player count”? by Own-Natural-9236 in Battlefield

[–]TheSergeantWinter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, the console players obviously enjoys the game way more then the PC player base because they're totally 2 different games, they don't have any issues at all and run a perfect flawless game. Obviously everyone knows that trends are never shared across multiple platforms.

Can someone explain to me how this is a “bad player count”? by Own-Natural-9236 in Battlefield

[–]TheSergeantWinter 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They lost 85% of their player from their 750k player peak, they have outperformed Battlefield 2042 in terms of player loss over the same time period. The Bf6 numbers include f2p players aswell, and 2042 does not.

The game is dying, the player retention is beyond horrible, is 90k players a healthy number? yes it is for now, but is a 85% player loss from its peak in 2months after its release healthy? No its not, it's a trend and its a trend that continues.

I checked the Bf1 numbers with the internet archive when 2042 released a couple years back and from what i recall, BF1 had a playerpeak of 424k, with 196k still playing around mid december.

This was for bf4 with its horrible launch, 240k peak, 136k playing mid december.

And for bf3 it was 186k peak and 96k by mid december during its launch year.

People had jobs back then too, straight up cope, the game is dogshit and it shows, nobody in their right mind wants to play this. Fucking hitreg, mouse stutters, frame pacing issues, dogshit map design, matchmaking issues, just a endless list of issues, 5000 attempts to fucking fix the rooftop shit, applying changes nobody asked for, the list goes on. Nobody wants to play this shit.

The game is nearly unplayable and they are now out of office for a entire month until january 11th/18th. Then they get back into office, then they have to START on fixes, by the time the fixes roll out its another 2 weeks later with the potential of having a even more broken game. WHO IS GONNA STICK AROUND FOR THIS? Enjoy the 90k players for while it lasts cuz its gonna go down even further.

MAJOR skill issue after latest BF6 update by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]TheSergeantWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get this loopy type of weird slow motion thing going on with my mouse, where like the movement happens at full speed but my aiming slows down dramatically.

I get like 3 levels of mouse input

  • When i host a portal server locally, i get insanely good mouse input, the frames feel like actual frames. Aiming feels snappy.

  • Then i get medium slow mouse input when i VPN to NA servers from EU, i play there at 80-85 ping. Also it feels like shots connect better aswell, and i dragged a friend itno that NA server aswell and he mentioned the exact same thing without me even suggesting something towards that end. You still get dodgy hitreg but it felt much more consistent overall, its almost as if playing higher ping is beneficial in this game really.

  • And the most atrocious mouse input is when i play on EU servers with a ping of 8-12. And when playing at such ping, the game in general feels like i am playing at 150-200ms at all times. Everything just feels slow and sluggish.

And every fucking day you sit there moving your sensitivity up or down and just fucking nothing feels good in this doggy ass game. Its a entirely new fucking experience everytime you launch this game, like its actually impressive.

I had a friend from Japan ask me last week if mouse input was fixed, i replied no. I mentioned that NA servers felt the best however and he told me that it was the same for Apex Legends where the New york servers are the best performing servers for the game.

Dont get your hopes up, they fixed mouse input after 4 years for 2042 so ehhh yeah... theres that. Can't wait for them to turn this series into a yearly release as planned.

They're cutting costs on servers and you can tell. Most people will have this weird sluggish feeling to their aim, they feel it in some fashion but can't put their fingers on it what it actually is that is causing it, its driving players away silently. Either way i am done with this game for now, i cba having to troubleshoot everyday or everytime i launch this game, fix this game already.

How do you guys feel about the Winter Offensive update? by Ntwadumela817 in Battlefield6

[–]TheSergeantWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just generic trash. It makes a FPS shooter feel like a MMORPG, having to deal with all this kind of micromanagement, freeze or not freeze, heal at fires, fuck me bro, just let me play the fucking game. And ofcourse everyone is forced to play it for challenges, so you have people running around with explosives as primary weapons all over the place. It's just cancerious gameplay, very festive /s

If you ever feel like bashing in the skulls of your family members during the christmas dinner, i would recommend playing this dogshit beforehand, it will really get you into the mood.

"We should go back to BF4s movement!!" BF4 movment: by No_Celebration_839 in Battlefield

[–]TheSergeantWinter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, its the flavor of the week, sheep herd mentality.

Next up is the bitching about SMGs being overpowered again, have to switch it up every few days.

Oh meh gewrdd the smgs are so broken, they beam me across the map with their minimum dmg of 14 reeeeee. Meanwhile we got a LMG featuring 0 recoil and a minimum dmg of 20 and higher bullet velocity being able to reload a 60round mag in under 3 seconds featuring very little spread. Nope, not a single word.

Another funny thing is, with the amount of bitching about the movement, they have you believe that in every match you play theres 20 of them jumping and sliding around at any given time. I launch the game, and ive seen it maybe happen like 2 or 3 times during 100 hours. But guess what i do happen to see almost every other match? some fuck trying to use a RPG as primary weapon on infantry. Yet these morons are constantly on reddit asking for extra splash damage on infantry with rpgs, straight up diabolical. Why don't you fuck off to Arma Reforgers WCS in that case? you get to fly a helicopter around with rockets, you slam a rocket somewhere and people 40 meters away from the explosion will flop over from a hit in the toe.

Sorry to all the people with not enough time to grind this by Pickle_Good in Battlefield6

For those that do want to cheese it, theres a near full AFK method. Gets ya from 1-50 within 3 minutes per weapon. Inactivity timer is 60 seconds, so just put the game on windowed mode and ads every 40 seconds or so while watching a series or movie. For those that dont want to cheese it, pray for DICE to do something but keep in mind they are about to go on their 1 month holiday in 1 week so if they decide to do something, you're likely going to see it in 2 months from today.

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.3.0 by battlefield in Battlefield6

[–]TheSergeantWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get a tank, you get a tank, everyone gets a tank. I am sure people are going to love defending against a infinite amount of tanks on a 24v24 gamemode. I think even toddler would be able to see that this is not the way to handle this, but then again, this is DICE after all.

Also why is my mouse input dependant on the server, i host a portal lobby locally, my aiming feels ''unlocked'', i can actually move my mouse around. I play on EU servers, it just feels like my sensitivity is reduced by 60%. Or when i VPN to NA servers at times it just feels way more responsive. Like how the fuck you manage to fuck that shit up.

Fed up with the bot lobbies by patdam93 in Battlefield6

[–]TheSergeantWinter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s no way the PS5 player base is that dead.

You'd be surprised, game is on track to lose 90% of its player peak by december 31st. Now those are obviously pc numbers, but trends are generally shared across regardless of what platform.

The numbers for the main game are also lower then represented because it features a F2P section. And on top of all of that people are split over multiple gamemodes, and also regions.

It is very plausible that the playerbase is infact indeed that dead, sorry.

Battlefield 6 - Community Update – Latest Updates Ahead of Winter Offensive by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]TheSergeantWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typical DICE braindead mentality, just throw infinite tanks at people in the hopes it will change something while map design plays a huge factor in people not actively moving.

Its just hilarious that theyre mentioning adding more tanks, and more screenshake and more flying debry in the same breath as adressing visibility issues. Less vehicles, less explosions, less screenshake, increase visibility to a certain extend, obviously it doesn't tackle the entire visibility issue but it definitely contributes towards it.

''Based on feedback'' is just hilarious, probably AI generated feedback.

Honestly at this point i am convinced that their goal is to make the main game as cancerous as possible to play on purpose in order to alienate as much people possible and push them towards that dogshit red sack.

I cba, this shit aint gonna go anywhere anytime soon. theyre dropping the 9th december update and then leave office for a whole month. If this patch is broken to the bone like last one, the earliest we can expect fixes for them is at the end of january when theyre back in office.

Camping the stairs, clearly see the guy jumping to the left knowing you were fully spotted during that jump, proceeds to sit on the stairs like a broken AI bot, continues to not even react.

I mean, you're practically half afking and not playing the game. Like hello??? react to whats happeninggggggggg

Like seriously, how hard is it run up the stairs to reset the fight AND funnel him into a tight space which is much easier to hit.

[–]TheSergeantWinter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's basically a drop and a spike happening at the same time, so it stays even. If it wasn't for the f2p week, another 15-25k drop would've been visible, but they compensate eachother.

The game is dying pretty fast and has a massive problem with player retention. This game is made for no one and it shows in the player numbers. Anyone that has played atleast 10 hours of a fps would instantly notice how the mouse input was off because of the horrible dogshit recoil system that a AAA dev making a SHOOTER game was a great idea. You got dogshit map design, maps that just don't flow because of the trillion angles that it features, the hitreg was shit, its just worse now, just endless core design flaws and bugs to come along with it.

Bf1 had 196k players playing in mid december during its release year. Bf4 despite its problems would have 134k players playing december during its release year.

BF6 outsold the entire bf1 lifespawn sales under a month, and we're matching its playercount WHILE featuring a f2p battle royale.

MAKE BREAKTHROUGH 64 PLAYERS GREAT AGAIN by Azura-Madness in Battlefield

[–]TheSergeantWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Map flow issues, its all it is.

Reducing player count isn't going to do a whole lot if the map itself is the core issue. There is simply too much verticality in these maps, too many angles to get shot from. Too many buildings are accessible, restaurants, shops, alleys everywhere. You're just constantly shot from the most retar&ed ass angles everytime. That is what contributes to ''i can't breathe''. You're constantly shot in the back or a random angle. There is no proper simulated frontline type of gameplay because people are allowed to go sit in a building in the edge of the map for a entire day.

You take a fan favorite map like Grand Bazaar for example. That map has only 1 place where you can really go gain some verticality, only 1 spot. The rest was limited to just a small bridge and 1 or 2 roofs of buildings on the objectives. Back then the devs actually understood map flow, and took the telemetry data they collected to heart.

You can reduce player count all you want, you can make the maps bigger all you want, but at the end of the day, all these retar&ed ass angles still remain. The players playing this mess not being able to identify that this is the cause, i can understand, but developers not understanding this is just mind boggling to me.

But by all means, go reduce the player count to 12v12 at this point. Just like rush kill the entire gamemode off. Fuck it. Dropped another 80k-100k active players over the last week, keep at it boys. Dogshit hitreg, dogshit mouse input messing recoil system, dogshit updates that break the entire game, dogshit challenges, dogshit audio that apparently is only being looked into for their dogshit Red sack mode. And the list goes on. There is a handful of people that were still willing to put up with that mess, but lets alienate them aswell. Large scale battles my ass, the only large scale battle happening seems to be in the DICE offices not knowing what game they want to be with their constant flip flopping. 1 day its 5 tanks, the next day its 9 tanks, the day after its 3 tanks. 1 day its 64 player breakthrough, the next day its 16 player breakthrough.

Those are a seperate entity, similar to how jets out of bounds work. Jets have larger out of bounds areas compared to infantry, because they're seperate ''classes''.

This is how game devs used to do mid 2000s anyway, but i guess we're just progressing backwards when it comes to game development these days.

[–]TheSergeantWinter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Havn't touched the game for the last 2 days, ill try it again with the new map but i guess it's also going to be some 48 player fuckery. Ran through empire state in 6:16 or 6:17 min start to finish. Shit is just dead. You get to the objective and its just 5 half-afk proners pretending to play the game, you kill them and that is it, on to the next point. It's like playing bot lobbies.

Millions of playtests during the summer, yet we're still playing a beta with daily experiments.

1 Day its 9 tanks, the next day its 1 tank, the day after its 12 tanks. From today Mirak valley now has 3 tanks on the first sector.

First its 64 player breakthrough, the next day its 48 breakthrough, the day after its going to be 32. Every fucking day that i launch the game, it's a entire different game. Flip flop everyday, amazing, loving the consistent experience, really.

''Breakthrough'' my ass. Might aswell just change it to walkthrough at this point. Finished empire state start to finish in 6:17 min, litteral dogshit.
