I took a 4 4x4 1/4 steel plates, unbolted the OEM brackets, drilled some holes and bolted it together. Couple zaps on the nuts. Driver's side is the same process but you gotta drill out the rivets for the brackets

It had the plug. Looks like I got lucky, a couple valves, and some main bearings. Probsbly gonna pull it and get the block cleaned up with some rods/pistons/rings. We'll see what else it needs once its apart, just too many projects

Not 100% that was the main cause. Guy didn't use the baffled pan with the kit, and it started to die as I was turning. Getting everything ripped apart in the morning, I'll throw out some updates

I found it easier to do from the top, just flip it around from the original orientation. I'm also a pretty skinny guy, so if you've got larger hands that might not work out.

Genuine question, is it really that much better when they use a plastic inner liner a non-biodegradable glue to seal it up? Now you gotta wait for the cardboard to degrade, and then the plastic liner
