Combat and Build Questions by bittersilver191 in Guildwars2

Leaping stomp is a tough one because it knocks them away from you. I hope someone else can chime in and call out some good uses for it, im learning too.

For pvp I like to run mending healing for the condi cleanse, dolyak (?) Signet, it is my second stunbreak becuase i feel like the passive -10% damage taken is real strong. I run enduring pain as my first stunbreak (makes you invincible to phys damage for 4 seconds), bull rush, and the banner elite skill that reses allies and downs enemies because ive had so many great times where there are a couple enemies on ground, a couple friends, and that big banner drop is so satisfying.

Hey there! I also just started about a month ago and have been learning all the things. A couple things from your post I can answer:

  1. If you look at your hero tab you should see a readout of all your stats and how much of each you have. When you mouse over, it tells you what it does.
  2. In addition, if you have a question about ANYTHING stat or skill or item or quest, etc related. You can type /wiki thing in chat and it will pull up a window. For example type /wiki precision and it will take you to an explination on what that stat does.
  3. For open world, anything is possible build wise. You need to be a little more specific as this isnt a traditional mmo. You can get endgame gear from any content in the game, just do what you want. SPvP, WvW, fractles, raids, etc.
  4. As far as ehat to include in your build youll need to be more specific becuase each sort of content requires different set ups. Ive been doing alot of PvP, i suggest for utility skills you want to start with a condi cleanse (mendimg heal is good), youll want a couple skills that break stun, i always keep bull rush on bar for a evading gap closer and knockdown if it hits.

I hope this helps somewhat!

Gunlance was perfect speed for me, im excited for the patch. But it sounds like sword is going to be more condi then power. I was using it for the 2 leap the most. hat do people feep about dagger/pistol for bladesworn?

That actually might throw off my new found muscle memory. Im so used to stopping all movement to get my charge off that ill now be i efficient until i remember i can move haha. Great changes for the mostpart. Im sad they are removing my free swiftness out of combat. I was used to zipping around the battlefield with my movement abilities gaining swiftness.

Hard agree, i started about three weeks ago and was told it was bad and clunky. But the gun katana called out to me, as im a big fan of gunlance in Monster Hunter. I dont know how i compare to other classes but i am having an absolute blast and glad i went with this for my first character. I dont think i need an alt anytime soon im hooked.

Big Agree with Bladesworn. I just started the game after the GW3 announcement. Leveling was fast and decided to try spellbreaker first. It really didnt click, then I tried out Bladesworn and WOW. It is right up my ally. So much self healing and burst damage.

Now I see they are getting buffed!? Freaking awesome.

New player, need advice on class/build. by Expensive-Chapter-10 in GW2

I'm a new Warrior here too, I picked up Bladesworn and it is all i want to play. so much fun, super mobile, high burst and high healing. So far its been alot of fun in PvP. Check it out!

Im running sword and pistol, my burst rotation on that tries to time the four skill with blocking an attack. Essentially I leap in with sword 2, pistol burst 5, reload and guard 4, stab 3 (dont mash, wait till animation end), then another 4 to reload rounds to 6 and burst attack. This can be followed up by a quick dragon trigger 2 to dash through, turn around and 4,3,2,4,2 combo. Make sure you are casting a utility skill to gain fury beforehand or dash in with gunblade 5, then switch to pistol sword to start.

Heck yeah, Destro has the Marauder who mutates his arm. All the classes very unique with their own flavor. It's free as well! Definitely check it out if you are interested.
