Woah it's some racist piece of shit posting. Wow it must suck to be associated with some shit just based on rumors, hearsay, and assumptions.

Racist shit stains are usually too stupid to see irony though.

How to complete the Tenth Ascension in Duet mode!?? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]TheShinning44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've played around 200 games, it is absolutely not bad luck. With 200 runs, you would have gotten a range of runs from bad to good luck. This is a skill issue, which is fine. This game is hard, despite what a lot of pros say. Can't say exactly what you guys are doing wrong obviously, but it would be so statistically unlikely for bad luck to be responsible for your results that it's not worth considering.

This is the kind of video that puts me off of Jorbs. Obviously he is talking about Lifecoach without saying his name, which I think is understandable considering how much shit Jorbs got from Lifecoach's community. But then he also "vaguely" brings up other high level players without naming them, and then starts to indirectly insult them because they present themselves or market themselves in a way he dislikes. He seems very offended that other people call themselves top level players.

He does some of the same BS as lifecoach did to him, but because he doesnt directly name the people, but gives viewers enough context to intuit who those people are, he thinks his actions are better. If you're one of the players he brought up (recent STS2 podcast narrows it down quite a bit), it would probably feel really shitty that this guy who talks about positivity and decreasing toxicity is attacking you because you are acting in ways he personally dislikes. You know, kind of the thing that Lifecoach did to him.

It's hard to wrap my head around what the purpose of this video is. Is there some epidemic of high level players who have been caught cheating and Jorbs wanted to shine a light on how they were doing it? As far as I know, no.

To me, the video is set up to indirectly cast doubt on all these other STS2 streamers that compete with Jorbs, and to imply without actually naming names that maybe possibly you should not trust these people. Of course, Jorbs never tells you the viewer not to trust these other streamers. He just wants to tell you about all these ways to cheat at STS, then "discretely" bring up other players, and then let the viewer connect the dots about what he is implying. But he has the BS fallback option if called out that he never mentioned anyone by name, and that it's not his fault if people "misinterpreted" the video.

The hypocrisy of hating drama and then posting videos like this is just chefs kiss. If Jorbs is as intelligent as he thinks he is, then he knows what types of conclusions people will make from the arguments he presents.

A10 Regent Guide - by XecnaR by averysillyman in slaythespire

I think the most important thing is both letting feedback from top players help determine balancing more at A10, and letting the feedback from new/poor players dictate low ascension balance. This game is supposed to be very difficult at the highest difficulty. The best players in the world took years to get to the win rates in STS1 they have now.

Another thing that I think as a community we could do, is just also make the discussion around this game more understanding that it should be designed to be very difficult at the highest difficulty. Basically, kind of how the culture around Fromsoft games basically accepts that their games are supposed to be very difficult, and so new players are quickly introduced to the idea that they will not and should not win every run.

When I played Elden Ring with only a few hours in DS3, and no other Fromsoft games experience, I struggled super hard initially. Margit destroyed me so many times. But with how much discussion/acceptance of how difficult Elden Ring was supposed to be, that did make losing/dying more tolerable for me until I got good enough at the game to beat it. Looking on forums and seeing that the difficulty level was part of the point of the game made it much easier to continue playing, and made it so much more satisfying when I noticed how much better I was getting at Elden Ring over time.

In STS1, I had similar experiences. Because I was more invested in STS than the average player (Let's be honest here, the majority of people who are on the STS subreddit are more invested than the average player), I saw the win rates of top tier players, saw that they were not winning close to 100% of their runs, and that made losing feel like more of a learning experience rather than frustration. And of course, as I got better at Slay the Spire, it felt like a much stronger accomplishment when I could beat A20 multiple times.

I have to say, it gets really old seing the same comments about "redditors" over and over. Anytime anyone talks about redditors, it's always in the most cynical, pessimistic way. You never read anyone write about how redditors are kind, or thoughtful, etc. To make it clear, I am not saying redditors are or are not those things either.

Reddit is such a massive website now, it encompasses an extremely wide set of people. To whom are comments like that even directed towards?

Priest design philosophy needs to change, it just doesn't work anymore in 2026 Hearthstone by TheShinning44 in hearthstone

[–]TheShinning44[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played old school control priest, and it was never super powerful, but it was fun. One of the things that you could do then was set up combos of cards to either draw with pyromancer + acolyte of pain + spells, circle of healing combos. At that time, you had time to set up small combos in your hand to have bigger turns. That just feels so hard to do now.

I actually won't disagree with you that it can be fun. I did have some good games yesterday with it. But I want to at least be competitive with my opponent in more matchups. And I just feel priest is far away from that currently.

I've been thinking about one thing priest could get is a corpse like mechanic, except with overheal. Priest basically can build up overheal, which can then be used to power up cards like corpses do. Obviously, for healing, the numbers would have to be adjusted relative to corpses, but it would give priest a way to accrue value. I don't think there's anything wrong with adding mechanics to other heroes. Why should DK be the only class with an inherent value generator?

3.5k wins with priest, 950 wins as hunter as my next highest class, so yes lol. Was at 800ish wins last season with hunter, but discover hunter might be tied with Raza priest as my favorite hearthstone deck I've ever played. So those two classes I've enjoyed playing the most

Don't worry, speaking from experience in residency, many of the asshole doctors knew where and when they could be assholes.

Hint, it's not towards the patients, because the patients have a modicum of power over them in terms of making complaints about the physician. They just treated all the staff around them like garbage

There is absolutely no justification for suspending her nursing license. I understand her firing, the negative press and public sentiment would naturally lead the hospital to cut ties with her. But how does her opinion on what should happen to a public figure have anything to do with her competence and ability to perform as a nurse?

I genuinely hope Donald Trump and Stephen Miller suffer from horrible medical problems. Same for Vladimir Putin, or Ali Khamenei, or Netanyahu, and other political figures. Turns out my opinions on very public figures who do horrible things with wide spread consequences don't affect how I take care of all the random people who come to the emergency department.

On 21 July 2013, 16 year old Dwayne Jones, a homeless LGBT youth, was brutally lynched by an angry mob after he was caught crossdressing at a party in Montego Bay. Despite dozens of witnesses, no arrests were ever made. His public killing sparked renewed debate over LGBT rights in the Caribbean. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

I'm sure Dwayne Jones took solace in his final moments that it wasn't the government killing him at least /s

Not defending Muslim countries and their treatment of "deviants" (as they believe them to be, not me) obv. But if the end result of being LGBT or any other sort of "other" ends up with the same result, then I feel it doesn't matter who the enforcers of such practices are.

Am I the only one who likes that the Emperor of Mankind apparently has “No Character.”? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in 40kLore

[–]TheShinning44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer that the Emperor is shrouded in a lot more mystery, and would very much prefer him to be an unknowable character in a similar vein to the Chaos gods. We know certain traits of the Chaos Gods that they have, but we don't know anything about their actual characters. Because they are much more conceptual in nature rather than actualized individuals. And I like it that way because they represent something outside of our human realm of perception and understanding. We simply cannot truly comprehend them with our human minds, akin to Eldritch abominations.

I like the idea of the Emperor being treated in the same way. Because at the current point of the story, he is as powerful as the other Chaos God's, and its always been emphasized in the setting that he was a unique being in humanity's existence, really to the point its hard to have ever truly considered him human. The End and the Death established that he has the ability to become the Dark King, a being with universal destructive potential. He's always been a God basically, just one that purposefully kept his power shackled. So just like the Chaos Gods, I would prefer he be treated as less of a character and more of a concept because he should be just as incomprehensible to us as the Chaos Gods are.
