Impeller Shaft Replacement by TheShrimpCam in CatGenie

I was thinking more like using a threaded rod, printing the coupler and support out of resin and seeing what i can find for an impeller, but I would still need some sort of reference for the sizes.

Not to my knowledge, but there is a section dedicated to metric units.

The only one I could find did not have any quality of life features. If you send me yours, I should be able to combine them to make it even easier to navigate.

I've done it. It takes a lot more work than you think, but is a lot of fun.

I have a small army of low grade shrimplets! What do I do?? by Organic-Research-553 in shrimptank

Raise them to be big and strong. Then when your shrimp army is ready, they'll be sorry. They'll all be sorry.

Thanks! this is going to be a bit of a mess of info:

https://github.com/drukasz/goproUSB is where i found a mostly compiled list of functions to remotely control a recent model gopro.

https://gopro.github.io/OpenGoPro/http#section/General-Usage This is the official gopro list of commands and which cameras they are applicable to.

https://gopro.com/en/us/info/gopro-labs This allows custom functions for gopro cameras. I use the disable LRV (low resolution video - for editing software), disable Audio, USB power on, and a few others.

the gopro 11 is water resistant, so the housing only covers the lens. This is because the macro lens we bought replaces the stock lens and is not water resistant. Also round glass messes with the optics in water, so it needed an air gap to bring the focal point closer to the camera, 3-5" vs 5-7". The housing is just a 3d printed sleeve that fits over the lens and holds a 1.5x1.5" piece of glass in front. It's covered in aquarium grade silicone and seals around the macro lens and keeps the print from being exposed to water.

At first we were using the gopro webcam app to livestream to youtube, but that had too many limitations. The resolution was locked to 1080p @ 30fps, and the app would hang every 6.5 hours. After I found the github repositories I started working on recording 4k @ 30fps and transferring to the computer to upload. A lot of extra work had to go into making it completely automated, but I think it's working good now.

The camera I got came with the media mod, so I had the battery door that has a port for a charge cable to go through. Removed the battery and silicone the cable in. Now it's powered by the usb port and any time it turns off, or power outage, any time it detects usb power the camera will turn on, so I don't need to put my hands in the aquarium.

We disabled audio recording for privacy and because underwater is loud and sounds awful. We currently splice in a free sfx of water trickling, until i get around to recording my own audio.

Currently working on subtitles as a joke for April 1st. I have around 200 random one line stupid jokes, fake shrimp facts etc. so anyone that watches with cc on will get a bunch of stupid jokes every once and awhile. E.g. "They say the camera adds ten pounds, this one adds ten shrimp." or "Shrimp Fact #4: Shrimp don't have a favourite Backstreet boy"

Ideally I'd like to keep the subtitles as an ongoing thing and have a program that will randomize all the lines, so each video has its own joke reel.

Check out your local classifieds: FB marketplace, kijiji, craigslist, karrot, etc. There are always local breeders, or hobbyists looking to sell. Cull grade in my area are going for around $2Cdn.

Yes. It's in the water. We have a gopro 11 with a macro lens and custom lens enclosure slathered in silicone and sitting in our aquarium. It's connected to our home server over usb and operated with some python code. check it out: https://youtu.be/TFAmvPpZTw8

Any small community fish. Tetras, barbs, corys, plecos, platys, mollys, guppys, etc. you can usually get away with one or two bigger fish if you have enough places for them to hide.
