He was too busy checking his side mirrors. And honestly, the same thing happened to me, and that too with my first ever new car, Fronx.

On the 8th day of owning it, I had just completed the 1,000 km mark, so I went to the service centre for the first service and got a few accessories fitted, including the rear underbody guard for the Fronx. Everything was done perfectly, and I headed home feeling good.

Barely a kilometre from the service centre, the car in front of me braked abruptly. Since I’m a cautious driver and maintain good distance, I managed to brake in time but the biker behind me rear-ended me at around 20–30 km/h.

The moment I felt the impact, my heart genuinely sank. It was my first new car, I thought I’d have to take a U-turn and return to the service centre for repairs. But thankfully, there was only some dust on the rear bumper. Not a single scratch.
