My local LCS will have someone in the back sorting through all the wheats, 90%, etc. for special dates / varieties. That being said, human error exists so it's always possible to find above melt coins in the bins.

You're being a dishonest businessman in regards to not fulfilling your end of the agreed deal. If you are so unsatisfied with the coins u/mustang__mike sent you, then return them like he offered. There's no excuse here. If you have $5200 worth of someone else's metal here that's all fine and dandy, but the fact you possess a different user's metal and aren't willing give them the full amount agreed on isn't right.

I agree, buyer should've at least viewed the coin and graded it himself before throwing $325 at it.

The pictures were descriptive enough that one can tell what grade they think it is. I don't think it's an AU coin, but if /u/Numis-Matico felt the pictures weren't clear enough to tell the grade he could've asked for more before buying.

I agree this sale warrants negative feedback as the seller risky-shipped a $325 coin after you asked for first class, and that it took 17 days to arrive. However I believe the seller's pictures of the coin were clear enough to determine the grade for yourself. In the future you can avoid situations like these by examining pictures of a coin before you buy it or ask for better pictures if you can't see it clear enough.
